Gosling, who is nominated for his role in 'Barbie,' said at the time, "I still have not been asked. It might be too much of a risk to have me do it. I don’t know how that would work. But I’m open to it."

Kimmel said, "It’s funny ‘cause I think Ryan was lying for a couple of months leading up when he was saying, 'Oh I haven’t been asked to sing.'"

He added, "That’s untrue, he had been asked repeatedly to sing at the Oscars."

Mark Ronson said it was his 'dream’ to have Ryan Gosling perform at the Oscars

Music producer Mark Ronson, who co-wrote 'I’m Just Ken' with Andrew Wyatt, also expressed his excitement about Gosling's performance.

He told reporters at the 2024 Grammy Awards that it was his "dream" to have Gosling sing the song at the Oscars, Daily Mail noted.

Kimmel also shared his enthusiasm for this year’s nominated movies, such as 'Oppenheimer', 'Poor Things', and 'Killers of the Flower Moon'.

He said, "That’s a big part of why I decided to host the show this year because I do know there are movies that people have actually seen, which makes it a a lot easier to make jokes about them."
