HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS: Simone Biles, the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) gymnast and Olympic gold medalist, is ensuring her friend and teammate, Jordan Chiles, feels supported during her challenging time.

Chiles recently lost her Olympic bronze medal due to a controversial decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

How did Jordan Chiles lose Olympic bronze medal?

Jordan Chiles competed in the women’s gymnastics individual floor final in Paris, France, initially placing fifth, with Romania’s Ana Barbosu in third.

Chiles' coach, Cecil Landi, submitted an inquiry to the judges, challenging the difficulty score given to her.

After reviewing the inquiry, the judges updated Chiles’ score, moving her to third place and awarding her the bronze medal, while Barbosu dropped to fifth.

However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) later stripped the American gymnast of her medal, claiming that Team USA’s score inquiry was filed too late.

Despite USA Gymnastics providing video evidence showing that the coach acted within the one-minute deadline, CAS stood by its decision and awarded the medal back to Barbosu.

The controversial decision has come as a 'blow' to Chiles who feels it "unjust," she wrote in a long Instagram post on 15 August.
