PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: On Wednesday, March 20, former President Donald Trump made an urgent appeal for financial assistance to his ever-ardent MAGA supporter base.

The 77-year-old presumptive Republican presidential nominee must pay his $454 million bond in the New York civil fraud case before the deadline runs out next week on Monday, March 25.

A joint fundraising committee that provides funds to Trump's campaign and another political committee that has been covering his legal expenses have sent a message to his followers that says, "KEEP YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF OF TRUMP TOWER!"

According to the message, supporters were asked to donate anything from $20.24 to $3,300 or more.

“So before the day is over, I’m calling on ONE MILLION Pro-Trump patriots to chip in and say: STOP THE WITCH HUNT AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP!” the message read.

Several legal challenges await Trump in the run-up to the presidential election, including the civil fraud case filed by New York State Attorney General Letitia James in 2022.

What did Donald Trump say about the impending deadline to post $454M bond?

In recent public statements, former President Donald Trump has grown increasingly certain that securing the $454M bond amount is simply "not possible" before the looming Monday deadline, according to the New York Post.

This deadline marks the point at which Attorney General Letitia James may begin seizing Trump’s properties.

The MAGA strongman posted on Truth Social Thursday morning, “Even though I did nothing wrong, a Radical Left New York Judge, a true Trump Hater, Arthur Engoron (Are we allowed to speak about his Unconstitutional Gag Order?), picked a number out of THIN AIR, $355,000,000, plus interest (reminiscent of John Lovitz, “The Liar,” on SNL when it was good), & wants me to bond it, which is not possible for bonding companies to do in such a high amount, before I can even Appeal.”

In his message to sympathizers, Trump also accused AG James of attempting to confiscate his properties as part of a "witch hunt" orchestrated by President Joe Biden and the Democrats to derail his reelection campaign.

President Joe Biden has stated that he is not involved in any legal proceedings against his predecessor.

While former President Trump's fundraising page alludes to the case involving Attorney General James, it does not explicitly state that the funds would be used to cover the judgment.

It remains uncertain whether Trump, under federal law, could utilize the funds to pay for the verdict.

Federal law prohibits the use of campaign money for personal expenses. However, Trump has been able to use donor money to pay for some of his legal fees after asserting that his legal defense is campaign-related.

Trump's legal team informed a New York appellate court on Monday that 30 insurance companies had refused to provide him with a bond that would cover the enormous civil fraud judgment.

Trump must either pay or post a bond to thwart the State of New York from confiscating his property while he works to appeal the judgment against him for misrepresenting property values to deceive lenders and insurers.

Earlier this month, Trump posted a $91.6 million bond to cover an $83.3 million defamation verdict in the case involving writer E Jean Carroll, which he has appealed.

However, the substantial bond in the civil fraud case has left the former POTUS scrounging to amass the required funds.

On Thursday, Trump's legal team issued a letter to the Supreme Court of New York, emphasizing that the former president should not be forced to sell his assets in a "fire sale" to meet the bond amount.

“It would be completely illogical—and the definition of an unconstitutional Excessive Fine and a Taking—to require Defendants to sell properties at all, and especially in a ‘fire sale,’ in order to be able to appeal the lawless Supreme Court judgment, as that would cause harm that cannot be repaired once the Defendants do win, as is overwhelmingly likely, on appeal,” the letter stated.

Trump has denied any wrongdoing in all of the civil and criminal proceedings against him.

Internet mocks Donald Trump for urging MAGA base to help him pay $454M bond

People on X ridiculed the former President of the United States for asking his supporters to help him post the substantial bond ordered by Judge Arthur Engoron in relation to the New York civil fraud trial.

One X user remarked: "I thought he was a billionaire?"

Another user quipped: "How funny. What a loser. Wins at collecting indictments."

Another user wrote: "LMAO. He’s beyond pathetic, but more so those who contribute."

One user asked: "#Trump claims to be this wealthy individual, billionaire but cannot put up the money to appeal the verdict?Seems he is a high net worth individual (owns buildings, etc) but cash poor. Using campaign money for legal bills also? Maybe this is all fraud?Seems to be, where is money?"

Another X user claimed: "The con man who is Billionaire In Name Only [BINO] needs MAGA and cult Republicans’ money to help pay the penalties for his fraudulent activities. Why? Donald John Trump will lose his appeal and he knows it. The fraud bond secures the direct payment to the State of New York."

Finally, this user tweeted: "Not so rich now huh?"
