Howie Mandel slammed as he admits he feels 'horrible' for ambushing Bill Burr and Billy Corgan on podcast
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Howie Mandel is seeking to mend his relationship with Bill Burr after a dramatic podcast incident involving Billy Corgan. The drama unfolded last month when Mandel unexpectedly ambushed Burr with Corgan during his appearance on the show, leading to an awkward exchange.
In response, Burr didn’t hold back, calling Mandel a "Hollywood W***e" during a separate appearance. Despite Mandel's apology for the uncomfortable moment, fans have criticized the podcast host, accusing him of using the stunt for ratings.
Howie Mandel apologizes to Bill Burr for ambushing him with Billy Corgan
In the recent Tuesday episode of Howie Mandel’s podcast 'Howie Mandel Does Stuff', he apologized for what happened in the previous episode, where he attempted to orchestrate a family reunion between Bill Burr and Billy Corgan. Mandel expressed, "I want to apologize. I feel horrible, and I’m sorry, Bill. I’m sorry, Billy. I only tried to do something good."
He continued, “I legitimately thought I was doing something nice, I swear to you. I thought it was funny." Mandel also addressed Burr’s angry comments, repeating, "Bill Burr said I’m a ‘Hollywood whore'. I should be proud of that? I’m not. The truth of the matter is, if he feels bad, I feel bad."
Mandel added that Burr hadn’t spoken to him since the episode, saying, “Bill Burr has not peeped. I texted him and said, ‘Good episode'. Didn’t answer. I said, ‘Is there anything I can do to further this, to follow up’? No answer.”
When Corgan joined Burr for the 'Family Reunion with Bill Burr & Billy Corgan' episode last month, Burr was visibly upset about the surprise and called Mandel "an a**hole."
Burr told Corgan, "He’s bringing you in here, not because he’s trying to heal the bulls**t that we went through growing up. What was supposed to happen? Are we going to go play catch? We’re both in our 50s."
In another appearance on 'The Rich Eisen Show', Burr criticized Mandel, saying, "Billy’s fine. That’s the first time I ever met him and it was fine or whatever, but I did not appreciate what Howie did. Not at all."

Howie Mandel’s idea to surprise Bill Burr came after Billy Corgan revealed in a November 2024 podcast episode that he might be Burr's half-brother.
Corgan had previously said, "Do you know who Bill Burr is? Bill Burr might be one of the children that your father sired in his days being a traveling musician."
In a January podcast, Mandel invited Burr (56) onto his show and surprised him with Corgan (57).
Corgan shared his stepmother's claim, stating, "This is a true story. I’m not making this up, there is no joke in this. This is a true story. I’ve never told this anywhere, honestly."
He continued, "And my father did once tell me that I had a half-brother named Bill who was basically born around the same time as me. He told me on my 18th birthday. This is all totally true. I swear to God.."
