HAMPTONS, NEW YORK: Hugh Grant and 'The Real Housewives of New York City' star Luann de Lesseps have different recollections of a memorable evening in the Hamptons over a decade ago.
While the reality star vividly recalls shots and a public makeout session with the 'Notting Hill' actor, Grant’s version of events is far more subdued.

The playful rebuttal followed de Lesseps’ recent recounting of the alleged encounter during an interview with TooFab.
Speaking in Beverly Hills ahead of her All New Countess Cabaret show on her 'Marry F Kill!' tour, the 59-year-old Bravo star claimed the sparks flew after a calculated bump into the British actor.

"A girlfriend of mine called me and was like, ‘Hugh Grant is at Pierre’s (a restaurant at The Hamptons).’ I said, ‘I’ll be right over.’ I called and said, ‘Get the table right next to Hugh Grant,’” de Lesseps began, painting a picture of a determined pursuit.
With her family in tow, including her brother, de Lesseps orchestrated a seemingly accidental meeting.
“I pushed out my chair real fast and I bumped into him — flirting 101. I bumped into him and said, ‘Oh, I’m so sorry.’ He knows who I am because I know Andy (Cohen),” she explained.
The strategy apparently worked. What started with an apology escalated to shots. “I go, ‘I’m so sorry. Can I buy you a shot? I feel terrible.’ He goes, ‘OK, but I’ll come have a shot with you if you do one with me,’” de Lesseps said. “Before you know it, we are taking shots and making out heavily at the table.”
Her brother was incredulous. “My brother was like, ‘I can’t believe you’re making out with Hugh Grant,’ and I was like, ‘Neither can I,’” she added with a laugh.

To which de Lesseps quipped, “Well, making out. That doesn’t count?”
