Hugh Grant says he hides from his children in loo

During a recent episode of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’, when Hugh Grant was asked about the age of his children, he replied, “Oh, I don't know. They go from, I've got a 13-year-old daughter right down to a 6-year-old daughter...and there are some sons sprinkled in there somewhere,” as per Parade.

The ‘Bridget Jones Diary’ star was further questioned if he’s “like the jungle gym dad?” He said, “I love a bit of that. I mean, there's a lot to dread 'cause I'm old, and it's noisy, and it's unbearable.”

He also revealed that he does “a lot of hiding in the loo. I do a lot of sleeping in there now. There's a lock, but they've pretty much broken it now.”

Clarkson understood his point as she admitted that she also chooses loo to hide so much that her children probably think she has IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).

“Well, children give you IBS,” the ‘Notting Hill’ actor stated.

However, Grant also mentioned that it’s “nice” to have children. “I'm going home tonight, and you know, let's face it, the bit where they jump in your arms. The 6-year-old, you know, she calls it her chimpanzee hug,” he shared.

“I quite like that. I've made myself cry,” Grant added.

He had earlier reportedly said, “Lots of people warned me … [that] the baby period is not that exciting. But I am excited. I like my daughter very much. Fantastic. Has she changed my life? I'm not sure. Not yet. Not massively, no. But I'm absolutely thrilled to have had her, I really am. And I feel a better person.”

Also in 2018, Grant disclosed to PEOPLE, “It’s just lovely to have all that love around. Suddenly you love someone more than yourself. It’s unheard of in my case. And they love you, and it’s all enchanting.”
