Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness' divorce hit roadblock over division of their $250M fortune: Source

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Jackman and his estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness' divorce has been put on hold over the division of their estimated $250 million fortune.
The former couple announced their split in 2023 as they noted to have “decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”
However, the path does not seem so easy as the 69-year-old actress feels she is “entitled” to get more money. The 'Logan' actor, however, does not think so.
An insider recently told the Daily Mail, “Hugh and Deborra-Lee have not yet filed for divorce because they are struggling to reach an agreement on how to divide their assets.”
“Deborra-Lee feels entitled to more money than Hugh is willing to offer,” they added.
Deborra-Lee Furness feels Hugh Jackman ‘betrayed her’

It has also been speculated that Furness' demand arose from the rumor that ‘The Wolverine’ actor cheated on her with Sutton Foster during their marriage.
An insider claimed that “while he didn't physically cheat on” the Australian actress with Foster, Furness “believes they were having an emotional affair and she feels he betrayed her,” as per The Blast.
The source also stated that “with a significant amount of money at stake, Deborra-Lee is determined to get what she believes she deserves from the separation.”
They further added that she is “using the fact that Hugh is still married and involved with another woman against him.”

However, sources close to Jackman have denied those allegations.
No prenup makes Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness’ divorce difficult
The former couple did not sign any prenup in 1996 at the time of their marriage. So, finalizing their assets gets more complicated.

The two bought a three-story apartment in the Meier Towers building in New York City's West Village in 2008 for $21 million. They also put the property for sale for $38.9 million in 2022.
However, it’s not clear if it was sold. The duo also has a $3.5 million property in East Hampton, New York, a $21 million penthouse in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, and a $5.9 million Bondi beach house in Sydney, Australia.
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness thought their marriage would last forever

An insider revealed, “One of the biggest reasons why they haven't yet filed is that they never had a prenup.
“When they got married, they thought it would be forever. Who doesn't? At the time, neither of them expected Hugh's career to get as enormous as it has,” they continued.
“Because there was no prenup, and he made a fortune during their marriage, this divorce is not going to be cut and dry. It may even get messy because the stakes are high,” the insider asserted.
