Hugh Jackman faces lonely Christmas as ex Deborra-Lee Furness derails plans with rumored GF Sutton Foster
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It looks like Hugh Jackman will have to spend some of this year's Christmas without his children, and it might be because of his alleged budding romance with Sutton Foster.
The 56-year-old actor reportedly wanted to introduce Foster to his two children — Oscar Maximilian Jackman, 24, and Ava Eliot Jackman, 19 —and spend a "blended" family holiday, but his now estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, is apparently against the plan, as per Woman’s Day.
Hugh Jackman is conscious of respecting estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness' feelings
A tipster who is close to the family shared, "Hugh and Sutton would love to get together with their kids for the holidays but it’s still awkward and Hugh is conscious of respecting Deb’s feelings."
"It’s going to take more time for loved ones to adjust to the new normal and so that means Hugh and Sutton are bracing themselves for way less time together than they’d like during the holidays," they added.
The source also noted that the 'Correlli' actress "feels like Hugh hasn’t properly acknowledged the hurt he caused by moving on so quickly." They further remarked that Furness "gave so much of herself to their marriage, personally and professionally. It’s not just about healing – it’s about respect."
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness said family is their highest priority while announcing separation
The 'Logan' star and the 69-year-old producer had been married for 27 years before calling it quits last year.
At the time via a statement, the ex-pair shared, "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."
The duo also mentioned, as per People, "Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness' children just want 'peace and happiness' for them
Despite their vow to undertake their next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness, Christmas will be tricky.
"Hugh wants to share his new happiness with Sutton, but he also understands Deb's feelings," the source stated, before adding, "It’s a delicate balancing act and he feels like if anyone is going to spend less time with the kids this year, it’s him."
Regarding Oscar and Ava, the insider claimed that they "just want peace and happiness for their parents. But they’re definitely aware of the tension."
