Hugh Jackman doesn't want to 'humiliate' ex Deborra-Lee Furness after Sutton Foster affair comes to light
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Jackman and his former co-star Sutton Foster have reportedly been keeping their romance under wraps for a while out of respect for his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.
An insider recently told OK! Magazine that Jackman and Foster have been keeping their romance discrete to prevent Furness from feeling "humiliated."

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster's relationship is reportedly surrounded by controversy, especially after Jackman's ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, seemingly confirmed their affair.
The source revealed, "They’ve been hiding their relationship from the outside world for so long, sneaking around, living apart, but there will come a time when they’ll want to come out as a couple. Soon, they may start testing the waters."
Despite the relationship between the stage stars, Jackman was very skeptical of Furness' reaction to the circumstance.
The source added that the 'Logan' star "doesn’t want the negative publicity. Or to humiliate Deb. Hugh cares for Deb a great deal. She’s the mother of his children."
Although Jackman and Foster have not made their relationship public, a different source claimed that it was the cause of his split with Furness, with whom he has adopted two children, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19.
Sources previously claimed that the new couple wants to keep their romance private to avoid the dangers of a public Hollywood relationship, particularly after Furness unintentionally revealed that Jackman and Foster appeared to have had an affair.
Furness reportedly had "suspicions" about the two, according to insiders who previously told Daily Mail, but she plans to keep her distance and lead her own fulfilling life.
"Deborra-Lee had her suspicions when Hugh started working with Sutton. Their relationship is not a secret to her. Deborra-Lee wants to be left out of this narrative," a source said at the time.
The source added, "She is not going to address this or speak against Hugh. When they divorced, they agreed to keep everything that happened during their marriage private."
"Hugh still has tremendous respect for Deborra-Lee. They have kids and that is what is important to them both. They are repairing what they can, and will never talk ill about each other," the source further asserted.

According to reports, the 'Greatest Showman' actor, 56, and Sutton Foster, 49, became close while collaborating on the Broadway revival of the Meredith Wilson musical in 2022. Jackman and Furness, 68, announced their separation in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage.
Foster filed for divorce from Ted Griffin, her husband of 10 years, in October. The insider claimed that "many in the theater world already knew their secret," referring to the couple's romantic status.
Another source said, "A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people. Everyone respected their privacy. But there was an affair and overlap. They are really happy now."
As for Foster, she recently filed for divorce from Griffin, which led to rumors of a romance with Jackman, with whom she collaborated on the Broadway production of 'The Music Man' in 2022.
According to a Page Six, Foster and Jackman were obviously in love behind closed doors and on set. "They spend all of their free time together," one source said. Now that Jackman and Foster are reportedly together, rumors have it that they are gradually increasing public awareness of their romance.
Sources confirmed to US Magazine that Jackman and Foster are officially a couple and that their romance is strong. "They’re happier than ever," they said, referring to their "joyful" relationship and the "wonderful next chapter" that lies ahead for them.
