Hugh Jackman shades pal Ryan Reynolds after being left out of major ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ scene

NEW YORK, NEW YORK: Hugh Jackman surprised the crowd at Radio City Music Hall, where he playfully roasted his longtime friend and 'Deadpool & Wolverine' co-star, Ryan Reynolds.
During his musical revue 'From New York, With Love' in New York City on Friday, April 18, the actor, 56, paused the show to share a tongue-in-cheek complaint with the audience, according to the video obtained by the Daily Mail.
Reflecting on their time filming the 2024 Marvel hit, Jackman said he absolutely “loved it” and had “the time of my life," but admitted he had “one little gripe."
Hugh Jackman jokingly shades Ryan Reynolds

“Don’t tell Ryan,” Hugh Jackman joked with the audience, revealing that he and his 'Deadpool & Wolverine' co-star Ryan Reynolds were practically inseparable on set. The only time they weren’t filming together was the very first scene of the movie.
“Now that’s fine, I don’t need to be in every scene in the movie. But Ryan is a writer. And when I see the script, I see that the scene that I’m not in is the opening sequence, which is a dance number to an NSYNC song by Ryan,” he continued.
“I’m like, the one scene I’m not in has dance. Now Ryan, he’s very talented, but dancing?” the 'Wolverine' star joked.

Jackman couldn’t resist disclosing a detail — Reynolds didn’t actually perform the dance number himself.
“There is no way I would try and match Ryan’s dance double Nick Pauley because the guy’s like 25 years old,” laughed Jackman.
Jackman then brought his personal choreographer, Beth Lewis, onstage to perform “the dance that got away". Both danced to NSYNC’s 'Bye Bye Bye' — the same track Deadpool grooves to in the movie's opening scene.

Ryan Reynolds gives a nod to Hugh Jackman amid ongoing legal drama

Ryan Reynolds turned heads with a surprise appearance during the opening night of Hugh Jackman’s concert series, 'From New York, With Love', at Radio City Music Hall on Friday, January 24.
Despite his wife, Blake Lively, being caught up in a legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, Reynolds seemed to put that drama on pause for a night out in support of his longtime friend.
In a sentimental speech, he said about Jackman, "I wanted to actually just say, I love this man, I care about this man. He is genuinely the best human being I know. And I have four children!"

The mention comes just a month after the controversy surrounding Lively erupted publicly.
In December 2024, the 'Gossip Girl' alum filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging harassment during the production of their 2024 film adaptation of 'It Ends With Us'. Baldoni, 41, has denied the claims and responded with a defamation and extortion countersuit against Lively, Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist Leslie Sloane.
