MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Country star Jason Aldean has defended his wife, Brittany Aldean, following backlash over her 2022 comments on gender ideology.

During a September 4 interview on Tucker Carlson's podcast, Jason Aldean addressed the backlash Brittany faced after she posted a video with the caption, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.”

Brittany Aldean's comments during a makeup reveal video drew criticism from those who found her remarks insensitive to gender diversity.

Jason Aldean supports wife Brittany Aldean’s remarks

In response, Jason Aldean expressed support for his wife, emphasizing that her intention was not to offend but to share her journey and appreciation for her background.

Jason said, "My wife is very outspoken, and she's very firm in her beliefs. And it's tough, you're trying to raise kids, and it's like, we're just trying to raise kids in an era where you're trying to make things normal to me that aren't normal."

He went on to say, "I feel like there's people that are going to take offense to everything these days, no matter what you say. And obviously she said that and people jumped all over that, but I agree with her."

Jason noted that while adults may choose to transition genders, the situation is different for children, who might not fully understand the implications of such a significant decision.

While speaking with Carlson, he further added, "If as a kid, your parents are already instilling that in you, and allowing you to do those things before you're of age, you can't even vote until you're 18, why should you be able to do that? Or drink a beer until you're 21, but you can change your gender? It's just weird to me. And I think if somebody wants to do that and they're old enough to make that decision, hey, doesn't affect my life, whatever. But you can't try to make that normal to everybody."

Jason stated that he isn't trying to impose his views on others but believes he should have the freedom to discuss them, just like anyone else.
