LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whoopi Goldberg is setting the record straight - once and for all. In the recent episode of ‘The View’ on Thursday, January 4, Goldberg cleared her name after getting included in the fake list of Jeffrey Epstein’s clients.

‘I don’t know what I’ve done to anybody’

‘The View’ co-host and former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin introduced Thursday’s 'Hot Topics' segment by explaining what the fake documents meant exactly. Hostin also noted that “being named in the suit does not equate to being accused of wrongdoing.”

Hostin said it is “extremely important” to come clean about the true meaning of the unsealed documents, before reasoning “because conspiracy theorists seem to not understand or enjoy facts. And, these are the facts.”

Whoopi Goldberg then took over the conversation and explained that her name came up on a fake list claiming to be Epstein’s client.

On her ABC talk show, Goldberg said, “Don’t believe unless I tell you about me,” before adding, “You’ll know if I’m doing something. I have nothing to hide. … It’s so insane and you know I don’t go anywhere.”

She jokingly reiterated, “They said I was on an island, and I’m like, I don’t go anywhere!” and added, “And there’s been a lot of stuff recently. I don’t know what I’ve done to anybody.”

The 68-year-old EGOT winner then turned serious and lamented, “People don’t realize that [satire sites] can be harmful.”

Per Page Six, one such fake list was found circulating on Monday, January 1. It contained the names of Goldberg along with her co-star Joy Behar and celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Barak Obama, Beyonce, George Clooney among others who featured on Epstein's flight log.

During that time, a moderator on X added the note,  “This is a fake list. The real Epstein flight logs have not yet been made public." The note also added, "A long list of people associated with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is expected to be made public in the coming days."

On Wednesday, January 3, some court documents were made public but Goldberg has not been named in them.

Whoopi Goldberg busts several myths about herself

In the episode, Goldberg not only addressed the rumor related to Epstein but also busted several other myths that have circulated about her.

‘The Color Purple’ star opened up saying, “So let me just get my part out. I never got kicked out of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant.”

She continued, “Never got kicked out of Guy Fieri’s restaurant. I didn’t get kicked off Bill Maher’s show!”

Addressing a rumored fight between her and Oprah Winfrey, Goldberg said, “I didn’t get into a fight with Oprah backstage here at The View. I mean, it just goes — it’s insane. It goes on, and on, and on.”

Despite the hosts of ‘The View’ making light of the rumors, Goldberg became serious once again and warned the perpetrators of their wrongdoing.

The ‘Sister Act’ star fumed, “Sites get away with posting all kinds of garbage, and they call it satire. But I’m saying this now, as we’re talking about this.”

She closed the segment by warning, “People who post these things should be very careful, because once someone is cleared of your insanity, they’re going to call their lawyer on you.”
