WASHINGTON, DC: Colorado Rep Lauren Boebert, on Saturday, May 16, responded to President Donald Trump's threat to withdraw his endorsement, stating she knew the risks when choosing to support Kentucky Rep Thomas Massie.

Trump threatened to strip his backing from the congresswoman after she campaigned for Massie, whom the Republican leader labeled "the worst 'Republican' congressman in the history of our country."

Lauren Boebert says she is 'not made or offended' over Trump's decision

Following Trump's public announcement, Boebert quickly clarified her stance on social media and stated she understood the consequences of her choices.

She posted on X (formerly Twitter) to directly address the situation, making it clear that she remains completely dedicated to the America First movement.

Boebert wrote, “Yes, I saw the President’s post. No, I’m not mad or offended. I knew the risks when I agreed to stand by my friend Thomas Massie.”

She emphasized that her political alignment has not changed, adding, “I was, and will be, America First, America Always, and MAGA. Onward.”

Trump says he would withdraw Lauren Boebert's endorsement 'if the right person came along'

The shift in endorsements began when Trump posted on Truth Social to express his strong disapproval of Boebert campaigning with Massie.

He openly questioned if there were alternative candidates for Colorado's Fourth Congressional District, pointing out that Boebert, whom he called "weak-minded," had moved there after facing a difficult re-election path in her original district.

Trump explained his decision by highlighting Boebert's support for Massie, writing that "anybody who can be that dumb deserves a good Primary fight!"

He further said, "Even though I long ago endorsed Boebert, if the right person came along, it would be my Honor to withdraw that Endorsement, and endorse a good and proper alternative. Just let me know, or announce your Candidacy, and I will be there for you!"

Trump has officially backed Ed Gallrein to challenge Massie in the Kentucky primary.

Laura Loomer amplifies claims linking Thomas Massie to Iran

Prior to Trump's announcement, political commentator Laura Loomer had noted that the president would react strongly to the joint campaigning.

Loomer earlier shared claims made by Rep Randy Fine regarding Massie and his ex-girlfriend, Cynthia West.

While Axios previously reported on alleged payments to West, which Massie has denied, Loomer raised further claims about the relationship and alleged that Massie had political ties to Iran, a point Fine stated he confirmed to Loomer.
