WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President JD Vance has called for the resignation of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz following allegations of a widespread fraud scheme in state-funded daycare centers.

Vance criticized Walz’s oversight, calling the situation a “massive failure of government”

JD Vance demands resignation over massive government failure

During an interview on Fox News with host Jesse Watters, Vice President JD Vance was asked, "Should Tim Walz resign?"

Vance replied, "I think Tim Walz should resign. I almost feel bad for the guy, except for the fact that he should have seen this. Whether there was something criminal, whether he was aware of the fraud—which would be criminal—or whether he simply looked the other way, it’s a massive, massive failure of government."

JD Vance informs federal investigation already underway

Vice President Vance also revealed that the federal government has already started investigating the alleged criminal activity within the day-care programs.

Vance explained, "The Trump administration, by the way, has already sent hundreds of additional personnel to investigate this, get to the bottom of it. Stephen Miller sent people who were literally going door-to-door in some of these fraudulent day care centers, trying to understand just how deep the rabbit hole goes."

Tim Walz refuses to step down despite growing pressure

Despite mounting pressure from lawmakers calling for his exit, Governor Tim Walz has remained defiant.

Walz had already dropped his re-election bid but made it clear he would not leave office before his term ends.

He told reporters on Tuesday, January 6, “I’m not going anywhere. And you can make all your requests for me to resign. Over my dead body will that happen.”

During the press address, Walz shifted focus from the fraud allegations to President Trump. He added, “I will fight this thing ‘til the very end to make this state better. And the question I think they need to decide is when is the guy in the White House going to resign? When does he take accountability for what he did? Because it isn’t going to happen here in terms of us shying away from making the state better.
