LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The recent clash between rap stars Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj has inadvertently drawn attention to a significant law called Megan’s Law.

This law was reportedly established to protect the public from sexual predators and is named after Megan Kanka, a young girl who was tragically killed in the 1990s by a sexual predator who was not legally obligated to disclose his status to his community.

Richard Kanka, Megan's father, is now voicing his discontent over Meg's offhand reference to his daughter's name in her diss track 'Hiss,' which allegedly sparked this fresh feud between the two artists.

What did the Kanka family say about the 'Megan's Law'?

Megan Thee Stallion's new song, 'HISS' has the lyric that reads, "These h*** don't be mad at Megan, these h*** mad at Megan's Law, I don't really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y'all don't want me to start."

Meg's lyrics were allegedly a pointed remark aimed at Nicki's husband, Kenneth Petty, who is on the sex offender registry in New York.

"Since Meg initiated this feud, it has only intensified. Nicki retaliated with her own diss track, 'Big Foot,' eliciting a range of responses from the public.

This particular line has been met with disapproval from Megan Kanka's family.

Richard Kanka, Megan's father, who has not listened to the song but has read the lyrics, described them as "disrespectful and offensive."

As reported by TMZ, the song has upset him to the extent that he is contemplating exploring his legal options to "see if Meg's track went too far.”

What did online users say?

People across various social media platforms have expressed diverse opinions, with some expressing outrage over the family's consideration of "legal options," while others have brought up Nicki in their responses.

One user tweeted, "He isn't a rap fan. Bless his heart. The line is respectful and educational."

Another person said, "But he didn’t take offense that Nicki sexualized the law? Megan’s law to Megan’s raw???"

"He shouldn’t waste his time because Megan never said anything direct about the girl. All she did was bring up the law's name. there’s nothing there," said a person supporting Meg.

"lmaoo this lawsuit has 0 grounds and will go nowhere," another stated.

A user mentioned, "She didn’t say anything disrespectful or defamatory, at the end of the day it’s a federal law so they have no grounds for legal action."

"Nicki always gets the last laugh." stated another.
