WASHINGTON, DC: Jill Stein, the presidential candidate for the Green Party, and her deputy campaign manager were taken into custody on Sunday, April 28, following a struggle with the police at the student protest 'encampment' at Washington University, according to Mediaite.

The protesters were opposing the school's affiliation with Boeing, a company that the activists claim is supporting 'genocide' because it does business with Israel.

Stein admitted being taken into custody at the encampment to many media outlets. She referred to President Joe Biden, former President Donald Trump, and independent candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr as "pro-war, pro-genocide candidates" in an interview with KSDK News.

She said, "You know, it just it just felt like we have to stand up and call this out. And, you know, that that’s what our campaign will continue to do. We are doing this election to ensure that the American people have a choice in the voting booth."

She added, "That we’re not just going to be presented with actually, three pro-war, pro-genocide candidates between Donald Trump, Joe Biden and RFK, who pretends to be a peace candidate but who is all for, basically the abuses of the Israeli government and makes no bones about it."

Notably, one of several pro-Palestine, anti-Israel demonstrations that took place at colleges and institutions around the country over the weekend resulted in the arrest of over 80 protesters at Washington University.

Moreover, many demonstrations have included antisemitic statements and slogans, which prompted the White House, members of Congress, and some academics to denounce them.

However, things became violent at UCLA on Sunday as the protestors from the 'solidarity encampment' broke over a fence to occupy a portion of the space allocated for a legal pro-Israel demonstration. According to officials, this led to many 'altercations' and scuffles.
