NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joe Scarborough was all praises as he discussed President Joe Biden's State of the Union address with his fellow panelists on the March 8 episode of 'Morning Joe'.

Delivered on the evening of March 7, Biden's speech drew major eyeballs, with final Nielson numbers showing that it was viewed by 32.3 million people, an 18% increase from last year.

According to Deadline, this was Biden's second-largest audience in his address to a joint session of Congress, topped only by his first speech in 2021 which drew 38.2 million.

Joe Scarborough's take on President Biden's speech

Scarborough hailed the State of the Union as the incumbent's "strongest speech" and claimed that it had left Republicans humiliated, as they tried to interrupt the proceedings.

"It was the best speech of his presidency by far," began the host in a clip uploaded on X (formerly Twitter).

"Strongest speech and more importantly, for people who were thinking he's too old ... (Biden) gave a lot more than he got and made these Republicans look like fools time and time again."

"I see buffoons wearing MAGA hats ... running around and trying to give stickers to the President, and all these other idiots just screaming and yelling and making fools of themselves. And I just sat there thinking, I know this is supposed to shock or stun the left or media or somebody, (but) all this does is make them look like idiots."

"All it does is help Joe Biden," he said, later adding, "There's a reason they lost ... and why I keep saying ... they're going to lose in 2024. All you had to do was look out on that crowd last night and see how stupid the extreme elements of that party have become. And they just keep re-electing Biden and Democrats."

Internet reacts to Joe Scarborough's take on SOTU

Social media users were not on the same page with Scarborough on the SOTU, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"He could have read the phonebook and Mourning Joe would have responded the same way," jibed a user.

"Lol it was literally the worst SOTU in Presidental history," wrote another.

"An angry mean old man with no policies is what Americans heard. He did an excellent job of dividing America even further!" exclaimed a third.

"If you’re a far left progressive who hates more than half the country, then you’ll love his loud, bizarre, angry, vindictive, divisive rant. and will care not at all if everyone not in your marginal and confined echo chamber thought it was completely abhorrent," commented a fourth.

"There seems to something wrong with this guy…. This is nonsense," shared a fifth.
