LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It's a story that seems straight out of a sitcom plot - the child actor who played Ross Geller's son Ben on the hit series 'Friends' has gone over two decades without ever reconnecting with his former co-stars.

In a recent interview that's now going viral, Cole Sprouse revealed the surprising news that despite skyrocketing to fame on one of the most iconic shows in television history, he has not met up with the 'Friends' cast again since his stint playing Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer's on-screen child.

His comments have sparked an outcry on social media from shocked fans, who are demanding the long-awaited reunion between Sprouse and the stars who were once his make-believe family.

Cole Sprouse looks back fondly on his time playing Ben Geller on 'Friends'

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Sprouse looks back fondly on his time playing Ben Geller, appearing in 10 episodes of 'Friends' between 2000-2002 starting at age 7.

"'Friends' has become now such an iconic thing, this entity," Sprouse told PEOPLE. "But I was only really on it for 10 episodes!"

The 31-year-old said his memories of working on the show were that of a "kiddo", likely quite different from those of the adult stars who filmed hundreds of episodes over 10 seasons.

Sprouse also recounted joyful experiences as a child star on other popular 90s series like 'Grace Under Fire' and starring alongside his twin brother on 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody' and its spinoffs.

"We never anticipated that it would’ve been such an important part of so many people’s childhoods," Sprouse said. "It’s really beautiful to see that people still have such a wonderful and nostalgic space still carved out for children’s programming and our show."

Cole Sprouse admits he has never met up with the 'Friends' cast again

Despite amassing major acting credits since 'Friends,' crossing paths with A-listers at Hollywood events and even occasionally bumping into his 'Big Daddy' co-star Adam Sandler, Sprouse admits he's never met up with the 'Friends' cast again.

"I’ve actually never had the chance or never bumped into any of them," Sprouse revealed, calling it "almost more rare than the opposite" in the entertainment industry. "I thought for sure I would’ve bumped into them."

Aniston herself was stunned to learn recently that Sprouse is now 31 years old, exclaiming in an interview last year, "What? He was so little!"
