LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The spat between New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and late night host Jimmy Kimmel got another chapter this week.

After Rodgers previously implied Kimmel’s name could surface in the Jeffrey Epstein documents, provoking fury from the comedian, Rodgers has now addressed the controversy in a 10-minute rant.

However, despite vehemently denying he outright accused Kimmel of pedophilia, Rodgers stopped short of actually apologizing for his remarks, per Daily Mail.

Aaron Rodgers addresses Jimmy Kimmel controversy but denies accusation

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers responded this week to the uproar over his recent comments implying comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s name could appear in the Jeffrey Epstein documents. In a rambling 10-minute monologue on 'The Pat McAfee Show,' Rodgers walked back his original insinuation but stopped short of formally apologizing.

“I totally understand how serious an allegation of pedophilia would be...so for [Kimmel] to be upset about that, I get it,” Rodgers said. “I’m not stupid enough to accuse you of that with absolutely zero evidence, concrete evidence. That’s ridiculous. I’m glad, and I think we can agree on something, is that 1, those crimes are heinous and 2, I’m glad you're not on the list.”

The 'list' Rodgers referred to is from a 2015 civil defamation lawsuit brought against Epstein, unveiled publicly this month, containing names of alleged Epstein clients accused of having intercourse with underage girls. Kimmel was never named in the documents.

A week earlier, Rodgers had cryptically told McAfee, “There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are hoping that list doesn’t come out.”

Jimmy Kimmel demands apology from 'hamster-brained' Aaron Rodgers

Kimmel initially responded over social media, accusing Rodgers of endangering his family. Similarly, Rodgers claimed sponsors attacked him and that he received death threats over the Kimmel comments.

On Monday, January 8, Kimmel launched a blistering takedown of the “hamster-brained” football star while demanding an apology. “When I do get something wrong, which happens on rare occasions, you know what I do? I apologize for it, which is what Aaron Rodgers should do,” Kimmel said.

He predicted Rodgers would not end up apologizing despite that being “what a decent person would do.” Still, Kimmel offered to “accept his apology and move on” if one came.

Kimmel added more barbs, saying, “Can you imagine this hamster-brained man thinks he knows what the government is up to because he is a quarterback doing research on YouTube and listening to podcasts?”

Internet erupts with flurry of reactions to Aaron Rodgers-Jimmy Kimmel drama

In the aftermath of Rodgers' attempt to backtrack on implicating Kimmel to Epstein, the online sphere erupted with a flurry of reactions. One X user remarked, "Ohhh go cry Aron. Ohhh go over it." Another astutely pointed out, "The idiot insinuates certain people are pedos and has the audacity to cry about what others say about him?"

In a similar vein, a third user quipped, "He is backtracking, he knew what he was applying tying Jimmy to Epstein lol, that threat got him stuttering and stammering and changing his story up lol." Another individual highlighted the irony, stating, "Kimmel makes fun of people for a living. Someone makes fun of him and he cries."

Meanwhile, a different perspective emerged with one user noting, "Women handle drama better than these two boys." Amidst the commotion, another user added a touch of incredulity, saying, "Jimmy Kimmel being pressed by a football player. Imagine."
