WASHINGTON, DC: Renowned Hollywood director, actor, and Democratic Party donor Rob Reiner ignited a firestorm on Sunday, July 7, urging President Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.

His call to action joins a chorus of influential voices within the party, signaling growing discontent following Biden's recent debate performance.

Rob Reiner tells Joe Biden 'it’s time to stop f*****g around'

Reiner, known for his steadfast support of Democratic causes, expressed concern over Biden's ability to lead effectively against his political adversaries.

"It’s time to stop f*****g around. If the convicted felon wins, we lose our Democracy. Joe Biden has effectively served US with honor, decency, and dignity. It’s time for Joe Biden to step down," Reiner posted on X.

Biden's faltering performance during a critical debate has stirred significant apprehension among Democrats who question his suitability for another presidential term.

The debate showcased moments of visible confusion and speech difficulties, intensifying doubts about his candidacy.

Biden was a "decent law-abiding person" for Reiner as he had described him before according to Fox News while calling former President Trump a "pathologically lying criminal."

However, in another post on Monday, July 8, Reiner said, "If we see the Joe Biden that appeared on Morning Joe today every day until November 5, he’ll be able to shut up people like me who think he should step aside."

Several Hollywood personalities urge Joe Biden to step down

Reiner's appeal for Biden to withdraw follows closely on the heels of another major Democratic Party donor, Abigail Disney, granddaughter of the co-founder of the Walt Disney Company, Roy Disney.

Disney has threatened to stop her financial contributions to the party unless Biden exits the 2024 race saying, "This is realism, not disrespect."

"If Biden does not step down, the Democrats will lose. Of that I am absolutely certain," Disney told CNBC News.

Amidst the uproar, Damon Lindelof, a Hollywood showrunner and 'lifelong' Democratic donor, also weighed in.

In an opinion piece on Deadline, Lindelof wrote, "He was behind before the debate. And it will not get better. So it has to be now and we have to move fast."

"When they text you asking for cash, text back that you’re not giving them a penny and you won’t change your mind until there’s change at the top of the ticket. And when Joe finally leaves the mound, I will stand and applaud. Because he truly pitched a great game," he wrote further.

Internet calls Rob Reiner 'a huge disappointment' after he urges Joe Biden to step down

The Internet has diverse opinions about President Biden's candidacy with large sections calling panic around it disappointing while others suggest he should resign besides giving up the race.

"Wow. What a huge disappointment you turned out to be, Rob. If Biden loses, it’ll be because of people like you," wrote a commenter on X.

"No it isn’t. Stop panicking and show some guts. Vote for Joe," countered another user on X.

"The Left got a wake up call after the debate. The MSM could no longer prop up Biden. So they're all trying to save face. They know they messed up," wrote one more.

One more user reacted to his recent post saying, "I am not sure why you made your original post. So, it's better that you shut up now."

"Trust me, Rob. We all shut you up after yesterday," wrote one more.

"Joe Biden was a disaster on Morning Joe. If anything, he just confirmed to even more people that he’s lost his marbles. He was incoherent and shouting wildly. Joe is done," contested another.

"Not only should he withdraw the race he should also resign," said one railing for Biden's withdrawal.
