MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has claimed that the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee still owe him $2 million in legal fees in former President Donald Trump's alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election results, reported the New York Post.

The 79-year-old former attorney made the claims on Wednesday, February 7, during a court hearing almost two months after he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy following the $148 million defamation damage he owes to two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, whom he defamed after the 2020 election.

"Once I took over, it was my understanding that I would be paid by the campaign for my legal work and my expenses to be paid. When we submitted the invoice for payment, they just paid the expenses. Not all, but most. They never paid the legal fees," he said in the hearing, according to a report by Meidas Touch.

The attorney added that he received only the expense and not legal fees. He could not put an exact number on the legal feel but pinned them around $2 million.

Giuliani testified that he made about $5 million a year before joining Trump, and he had to give up on all his clients after taking up the election fraud case. He also added about the current financial difficulties after getting suspended from law practice.

Nevertheless, during the hearing, he tried to protect his former client when asked if he had a possible claim against Trump.

"It is my understanding that I would have a complaint, certainly against the campaign and RNC, not against Trump," Giuliani responded based on a report by The Independent

Giuliani, who does not enjoy any pension benefits from his position as mayor, recently took to X requesting his supporters pay $10 monthly to subscribe to his podcast.

One user wrote, "Karma."

Another user wrote, "Karma is tough." A third user added, "And if asked,.Rudy would gladly say that he would vote for Trump again. I don't feel sorry for him, not a second."

"And I hope he doesn't expect any pity. He certainly won't get any from me. He needs to pay what he owes to Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman. Period," a response read.

One user said, "Not a very good lawyer if he expected trump to pay him." A sixth user said, "Trump stiffed him like he stiffs everyone!"

"It pays to blindly follow Trump and get caught up in his schemes," another added.
