NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Texas Representative Chip Roy strongly criticized the Senate's proposed border bill in an extensive X (formerly Twitter) thread on Monday, February 5, asserting it's not so well-intended.

The Senate's new bipartisan border security and foreign aid bill, which was unveiled on Sunday, includes total funding of $118 billion, where $60 billion is for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel, $10 billion to aid humanitarian assistance for civilians affected by war in Ukraine, Gaza, and the West Bank.

Another $4.83 billion is said to be used to support the nation's allies in the Indo-Pacific and "deter China," while $2.4 billion is for assisting operations related to the conflict in the Red Sea.

The bill also proposes to use $20 billion to control illegal immigration at the US-Mexican border, as per The Guardian

Subsequently, Fox News host Sean Hannity took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share Roy's thoughts regarding the bill, and netizens soon weighed in with their thoughts.

Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "IT'S A TRAP! Rep. Chip Roy Drops Lengthy X Thread Blasting Senate's Border Package [READ IT]. ROY: 'The Senate ‘deal’ is designed to accept and perpetuate the Democrat scam of mass migration.'"

The Fox News host's post featured an article from his official website about Roy's remarks regarding the bipartisan bill.

In his thread, Roy had noted, "It is also not a border security bill. It is, however, a bill designed by Democrats to boost Biden against Trump by helping Dems blame Republicans for open borders, a trap into which some GOP willingly walk in order to fund an insatiable desire for endless wars."

He continued, "The bill BORROWS some $118BB to fund $60BB for Ukraine, in addition to other Foreign Aid (Israel & Taiwan), plus $20BB for alleged 'border security.'"

"The border 'crisis' is a crisis not of resources or lack of authority, but rather the result of abuse of law by the President," asserted Roy.

He claimed, "The willing disregard of the text & spirit of laws designed to maintain operational … control of the border & secure our nation – in favor of using judge-made loopholes & very limited exceptions (asylum & parole) to establish a default of 'encounter & release' instead of 'encounter & remove.'"

The Rep sternly noted, "The Senate 'deal' is designed to accept and perpetuate the Democrat scam of mass migration."

He ended his thread with a #SecureAmericaFirst hashtag and wrote, "In conclusion, this bill is a partisan 'uniparty' war bill masquerading as border security that perpetuates open borders, massive debt, & continued proxy wars… a ‘shiny object’ not worthy of further comment beyond immediate burial in the grave."

Internet weighs in on Texas Rep Chip Roy's thoughts regarding the Senate's border security bill

Soon after Hannity shared Texas Rep Roy's detailed criticism regarding the Senate's border security bill, netizens flocked to show support and diss the proposed move.

One wrote, "Every single Republican senator better vote NO!" and another said, "Everyone, Democrat and Republican, should be outraged by this bill and unite in their condemnation of it."

"It’s bill, of course it’s a trap, but usually for the American people," remarked a person, while someone else added, "I completely agree with Rep. Roy's assessment of the Senate's border package."

An individual opined, "This should not even be open for debate!! STOP IT COLD!!"
