LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Alyssa Milano found herself the target of public criticism this week after an entertainment outing with her son revived outrage over a recent GoFundMe campaign.

The 'Charmed' actress previously started a crowdfunding effort to pay for her 12-year-old's baseball team expenses, seeking $10,000 in public donations.

Just weeks after hitting that fundraising benchmark, however, Milano shared photos of herself and son Milo attending the lavish Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

Her social media post about the high-profile sporting event sparked a swift backlash from followers who called out the perceived hypocrisy of the fundraising coupled with extravagant personal spending, as per Daily Mail.

Alyssa Milano started GoFundMe to pay for costs associated with son Milo's baseball team

Earlier this year, Milano started a GoFundMe titled "BIRDS 12U Travel Fund" to pay for costs associated with her 12-year-old son Milo's baseball team.

On the campaign page, Milano asked supporters to help fund expenses like transportation, hotels, food, uniforms, and trading pins for the team's upcoming away games and tournaments.

The campaign received some backlash online from critics who questioned why the actress, with an estimated net worth of $10 million, was asking the public to financially support her son's recreational baseball team. As of this week, however, the campaign surpassed its $10,000 goal, raising over $15,000 in donations.

Milano defended creating the GoFundMe in a statement posted to social media on February 1. "Every parent raises money for their child's sports teams and many of them do so through GoFundMe. I am no different," she wrote.

"As much as I'd love to pay for the entire team and their families for travel, transportation, hotel, food and beverage, uniforms, trading pins and all the things teams do for this kind of trip - I cannot afford to do so."

Shortly after promoting her son's GoFundMe, Milano attended Super Bowl LVIII with Milo in Las Vegas. With the average ticket price ranging from $950 to $9,500, many were quick to condemn Milano for splurging on the big game so soon after crowdfunding her child's baseball season.

Several of Milano's 10.5 million social media followers voiced their displeasure at what they saw as hypocritical behavior.
