Internet thinks Madonna 'deserves' to face legal action for 'false advertising' and delayed concert start
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Madonna sparked social media frenzy when two men filed a lawsuit against her, citing delays in her concert start and accusing her of alleged 'false advertising'.
In a recent Toronto concert, Madonna made headlines by asserting her dominance over Lady Gaga. However, she also garnered attention for apologizing to the people of Toronto for mistakenly referring to them as Boston during the performance.
Known for her controversial moments, the 'Material Girl' singer faced another dispute when Ticketmaster incorrectly stated that her Boston tour dates were postponed. Madonna's team promptly refuted this claim.
Madonna sued for delaying concert start
According to Variety, Madonna is facing a lawsuit from two fans who allege that the singer consistently fails to meet the concert start time she promises.
New York City residents Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden filed a lawsuit in Brooklyn federal court against Madonna, the Barclays Center, and Live Nation, accusing them of "unconscionable, unfair, and/or deceptive trade practices".
Variety reports that the promotional materials for Madonna's three 'Celebration' concerts in New York in December indicated a 8.30 pm start time. However, the shows didn't commence until after 10.30 pm, leading the fans to claim a breach of contract.
According to the filing mentioned by Variety, the fans argue that the late start caused them difficulties with limited transportation options and increased costs, as the December 13 show extended past midnight.

The lawsuit alleges that Madonna displayed a "flippant difficulty" in ensuring timely performances, and the defendants were aware that any stated start time constituted optimistic speculation at best.
Variety notes that the suit also highlighted the late start times for Madonna's December 14 and December 16 shows, emphasizing the pop star's "long history of arriving and starting her concerts late".
Madonna's actions are claimed to be not only a breach of contract but also alleged "false advertising" and "negligent misrepresentation", according to the suit.
Per Variety, representatives for Madonna and Live Nation have not yet responded to the allegations.
Madonna continues to capture attention with her concerts. In a recent performance, she playfully referred to talk-show host Andy Cohen as a "troublemaking queen".
