Trump receives assassination threat from Iran: 'This time it will not miss the target'
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump has been targeted with a direct assassination threat from Iran. The warning appeared as a chilling image broadcast on Iran's state television, showing Trump at the 2024 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, alongside a stark and haunting message: "This time it will not miss the target."
The text was in reference to the assassination attempt on Trump on July 13, 2024. The image and message come amid rising tensions between Washington and the Iranian region. This is Tehran’s most direct threat against Trump so far.
This threat comes after Trump's administration repeatedly warned that the US could act if Iran continues its brutal crackdown on anti-government protesters.
Islamic republic state TV just crossed a red line. Airing an image of President Trump after an attempted assassination (by the regime) along with a Persian message reading “this time, the bullet won’t miss.” This is a direct threat against the President. pic.twitter.com/g4UUwnxEYX

Trump receives direct death threat from Iran
Iran has issued what appears to be its most direct threat yet against Donald Trump. The warning was aired on Iranian state-run TV, according to Agence France Presse (AFP).
Even Israeli-American journalist Emily Schrader shared a screenshot from Iranian state television showing a split-screen broadcast. It shows a crowd of people on one side, and an image of Trump on the other, accompanied by the Persian message, “This time it will not miss the target.”
The image of Trump appeared bloodied, taken from the aftermath of the 2024 Butler, Pennsylvania, rally shooting, when he was shot in the ear by gunman Thomas Crooks. As per Newsmax, that footage from a pro-government rally in Iran was used to create an unmistakable and chilling warning to Trump.
However, neither Trump on his Truth Social Account nor the White House on X (formerly Twitter) has replied yet to the viral image that was spread.
It comes amid growing tensions, following Trump’s repeated statements that the US would act if Iran continued suppressing anti-government protesters. The graphic was broadcast despite widespread internet and media blackouts in the country to limit coverage of the protests.
Iran’s history of threats against Trump
Iran has a track record of targeting Donald Trump with threats. In 2022, the regime released a video that simulated an assassination attempt on him at his Mar-a-Lago golf course, ahead of the 2024 election. The video gained renewed attention following the arrest of Ryan Routh, who was allegedly caught attempting to target Trump.
Authorities have also disrupted an Iranian-linked assassination plot in 2024, as per The New York Post. Court filings reveal that Farhad Shakeri was arrested after reportedly being instructed by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps to carry out an attack against Trump on the Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps’ behalf.
Recently, during the pro-government rallies in Iran, crowds were heard shouting slogans such as “Death to America” and expressing loyalty to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. These rallies seemed to be a response to the large anti-government protests that began in late December.
