LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Attorneys representing Cassie Ventura, the former girlfriend of Sean "Diddy" Combs, criticized his "pathetic" apology over a surfaced 2016 video of him assaulting the singer.

The rapper responded to the unsettling footage—which showed him kicking, pulling, and hitting his ex-girlfriend in a hotel hallway—with a minute-long video on Sunday, May 19.

Diddy stated he was "truly sorry," calling his actions "inexcusable," without mentioning Ventura's name.

In the apology video, Diddy declared that he accepted "full responsibility" for his deeds before going into detail about how he had hit "rock bottom" at the time the footage was captured.

He added, "I was disgusted when I did it. I'm disgusted now." Diddy further mentioned he sought professional help as well as got into therapy and rehab to become a better man.

Cassie Ventura's legal team calls Sean 'Diddy' Combs' apology video 'disingenuous'

Ventura's attorneys aren't keen on Diddy's apology because the rapper was outspoken in his denial of any wrongdoing when his ex-girlfriend and several other women came forward with claims of abuse against him.

In a statement regarding the said video, Ventura's attorney, Meredith Firetog, described Diddy's remarks as "disingenuous."

Firetog, a partner at the firm Wigdor LLP, remarked, "Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt," as per the New York Post.

She added, "When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday. That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words."

The horrifying footage of Sean 'Diddy' Combs assaulting Cassie Ventura

CNN released the uncovered surveillance footage of Diddy's horrific assault on ex-girlfriend, Ventura, on Friday.

In the short clip, Diddy is seen chasing Ventura while wearing a towel. When he sees her, he throws her to the ground, grabbing her by the neck.

Diddy then kicks the singer before seizing her belongings, which were just outside the elevator that she had attempted to crawl out of. He gave Ventura another hard kick before dragging her back down the corridor by her sweatshirt's hoodie.

As per CNN, the violent assault is said to have taken place in the hallways of the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, on March 5, 2016.

The video purportedly corresponds with an assault incident that Ventura detailed in her lawsuit, as per The Blast.

In that lawsuit, the singer and model claimed that an "extremely intoxicated" Diddy "punched" her in the face, "grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing the glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape."

Internet reacts as Cassie Ventura's legal team disses Sean 'Diddy' Combs' apology

One noted, "Cassie's lawyers are on top of it for real!" and another exclaimed, "Exactly! Diddy’s behavior is Narcissism 101! Literally textbook."

"Imagine your predator gaslighting you and making it seem like you are crazy isn't that familiar? His video did seem forced and disingenius," added a person.

Someone else wrote, "The lawyer said that so well put together !!! He only apologized cause we seen the video he was not sorry before it got leaked."

"Cassie's lawyers are not playing with Diddy. Jus like I don't believe he went to anybody's Rehab. I bet he will into one now.. smh!!" chimed in one more.

An individual remarked, "This is exactly what I said. He lied. Absolutely nothing he says can be seen as true or valid."

"In true narcissistic form, he made it about him! There should be numerous public apologies to these poor women who he physically and emotionally abused!!!" offered another person.
