TORONTO, CANADA: Finn Wolfhard, known for his roles in 'Stranger Things' and 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife', recently shared an unsettling encounter he experienced on the set of 'It', a 2017 horror adaptation of Stephen King’s novel.

Despite having starred in several supernatural and horror projects, Finn revealed in a recent interview that this incident was among the few times he was genuinely frightened off-screen.

The incident took place in an old Toronto mansion where he and fellow cast members were shooting scenes for 'It', in which Finn portrayed Richie Tozier, one of the brave yet terrified kids facing off against Pennywise the Clown, played by Bill Skarsgård.

While Pennywise’s antics were terrifying enough, it was an unknown figure who left an indelible mark on the young actor.

Reflecting on the incident, Finn shared with People magazine, “I’ve been in a lot of supernatural movies and TV shows, but ironically, I’ve never really seen a full-on ghost.”

He recalled that during a break in filming, he and some cast members explored the top floor of the abandoned mansion, encountering a man dressed in black, seemingly working as an electrician.

"We went up to the top floor and there was one room where we saw a guy in black just kind of doing electrician work, and we were just like, 'Okay, that's just a crew member,' But then later, we found out that no one knew who that was, and no one ever saw him again," Wolfhard explained.

Initially dismissing the figure as part of the film crew, the group was shocked to learn that no one recognized the man or remembered seeing him. “It could have been someone just messing around, but, yeah, it was pretty scary,” Finn admitted.

The film also features a cast including Sophia Lillis, Jaden Lieberher, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Jeremy Ray Taylor alongside the lead actor.

Finn Wolfhard is filming the fifth and final season of 'Stranger Things', set to release in 2025. He stars as Mike Wheeler, alongside a cast that includes Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, and David Harbour.

As the series heads into its climactic season, it continues to follow the supernatural trials of the Hawkins residents. Fans will also see acclaimed director Frank Darabont step into helm two episodes, marking his return to directing after more than a decade.

Originally slated for a summer 2023 start, production for the final season of 'Stranger Things' faced delays due to simultaneous writers' and actors' strikes. The Duffer brothers, who helm the show, halted work on May 6 as the Writers Guild of America strike commenced.

Once that strike concluded, the co-creators confirmed they were ready to resume, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

On January 8, 2024, Netflix officially announced that filming for the final season had begun. As of October 2024, the production has now passed its halfway mark.
