Internet slams Fani Willis for claiming cellphone data is 'irrelevant' to alleged affair with Nathan Wade
WASHINGTON, DC: Defending herself against fresh claims that she had a romantic relationship with the special prosecutor in former President Donald Trump's Georgia election fraud case before they both testified, Fani Willis, the embattled district attorney for Fulton County, responded by claiming that dozens of recently discovered pings from his cellphone near her home are not important and "don't prove anything."
In response to the Trump team's earlier motion, Willis' office filed a rebuttal, arguing that the seemingly incriminating cellphone data—which included texts and phone calls—that described Nathan Wade's alleged overnight trips to Willis' rented condo should not be admitted into evidence during the hearings to determine whether Willis should be removed from the case.
Cellphone data shows Nathan Wade was frequently near Fani Willis' home
The prosecutors wrote, "The records do nothing more than demonstrate that Special Prosecutor Wade’s telephone was located somewhere within a densely populated multiple-mile radius where various residences, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and other businesses are located."
They added, "The records do not prove, in any way, the content of the communications between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis; they do not prove that Special Prosecutor Wade was ever at any particular location or address; they do not prove that Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis were ever in the same place during any of the times listed."
The phone records, which were just made public in fresh court filings that The Post was able to get, show a pattern of Wade making late-night excursions to Willis' apartment, casting doubt on the chronology of their connection.
Wade visited the area around Fulton County District Attorney Willis' condo in Hapeville at least thirty-five times before their admitted romance, based on the cellphone data that was shown in court.
Even before Willis assigned Wade to bring charges against Trump in the Georgia election fraud case, there had been one such visit.
During a special hearing, Willis admitted the visits, but she avoided discussing the number and timing of them. To further examine the phone records, however, attorneys attempting to get Willis removed from the Trump case engaged a criminal defense investigator.
Based on AT&T records, the inquiry turned up information on Wade's proximity to Willis.
Internet slams Fani Willis for her claims
After claiming that dozens of recently discovered pings from his cellphone near her home are not important and "don't prove anything", Fani Willis was trolled on the internet by people.
A user wrote, "It's called perjury. That is very relevant," while one added, "It is when it comes to contradicting sworn testimony...did you miss that class in law school about impeachment of a witness??? Apparently you did..."

Another person mentioned, "Awkward that it is the gold standard data used for cell phone location by police and DA’s across the country, to convict people of crimes, but it doesn’t work on Fani or Wade’s phones," whereas one mentioned, "I am not a lawyer but I am guessing her lying about booty calls under oath is perjury."
