LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tiffany Haddish, 44, is talking about sobriety following a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) crash that led to her arrest in November 2023.

It was her second arrest in similar circumstances as the comedian was also arrested in January 2022 for DUI.

Tiffany Haddish is continuing her 72-day sobriety streak

Haddish revealed that she has been sober for over 72 days and that she hasn't drunk or smoked anything as she is trying to be a law-abiding citizen.

"I haven't drank any alcohol, smoked any weed or anything in, like, 72 days," Haddish told 'The Conversation' podcast.

"It's not hard. It's not that hard for me, 'cause it wasn't really, like, my main thing anyways," she said.

People noted that Haddish talked about her sobriety during the first 10 minutes after the host mentioned she had a history of addiction.

Tiffany Haddish is now trying to be obedient

On being asked about her inspiration to be sober, Hadish said, she is "being obedient to the law."

"It's court-mandated," she continued, referencing her two DUI arrests. She further explained that her use of cannabis was solely to alleviate the pain from her endometriosis.

In the early hours of November 24, 2023, following an incident where she was reportedly found dozing off in her Tesla in Beverly Hills, California, Haddish was apprehended and faced DUI charges.

Before the arrest, she attended a Thanksgiving celebration at The Laugh Factory in West Hollywood the previous night and was discharged from detention on the arrest day itself.

The offense was downgraded to a minor infraction, and the star of 'The Haunted Mansion' entered a no-contest plea in February.

In her podcast, Haddish mentioned, “I was ‘driving exhausted’” and expressed that she would have contested the charges “tooth and nail” had her health not been adversely affected by stress, according to People.

Tiffany Haddish's DUI had striking similarities with her 2022 arrest

The DUI arrest bore a notable resemblance to a previous one from January 2022.

In that case, officers in Peachtree City, Georgia, came across Haddish during an investigation following a 230 am report of a driver asleep on a highway.

The police reported halting Haddish as she maneuvered a vehicle into a residential driveway.

At that time, the authorities had reasons to believe Haddish had consumed marijuana before driving, leading to her arrest on charges of driving under the influence.

To secure her release from detention, Haddish posted a $1,666 bond.
