LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Christopher Reeve, known for playing the title role in the 1978 'Superman' and its sequels, is being remembered anew as his son prepares to cameo in James Gunn's 'Superman', two decades after his death.

Christopher's youngest son, journalist and ABC News correspondent Will Reeve, is set to join the DC Universe with a role in Gunn's upcoming film, in which David Corenswet stars as Superman.

The movie, written and directed by Gunn, is scheduled to hit the theaters on July 11, 2025.

The current project involving Christopher’s son Will is being filmed in Cleveland, Ohio, where local reporters have captured all the behind-the-scenes action, including Will's presence on set during a pivotal scene, as per TMZ.

Images shared on X (formerly Twitter) by The Moonlight Warrior account depict heartwarming moments of Will embracing Gunn on set, carrying on his father's legacy from the iconic 'Superman' movies of the 1970s and 1980s.

While it's unclear what exact role Will plays, he was seen dressed sharply in a Clark Kent-style suit, exchanging greetings with the director and receiving applause from the crew, indicating he may have just completed his scenes.

One thing is certain, Will isn't portraying the titular role, as Corenswet has been seen wearing the classic blue and red Superman suit across Cleveland, as per Variety.

Will Reeve and his siblings were a part of 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story' documentary

Recently, Will and his siblings, Matthew and Alexandra, were part of Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui’s documentary 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story', which chronicles their father's life and career.

The documentary explores Christopher's journey to becoming a Hollywood icon as well as the tragic horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down.

After premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, 'Super/Man' secured a deal with Warner Bros Discovery for approximately $15 million.

Reflecting on the documentary, Will expressed, "The majority of my memories of my dad involve him after the accident because I was not yet three years old when he was injured. So to see his entire life leading up until that time laid out so poetically and cinematically and authentically by our wonderful directors has been a real gift for me."

During the interview, the Reeve children were also questioned about the CGI recreation of Christopher that appeared in 2023's 'The Flash'. All three disclosed that they hadn't watched 'The Flash' and weren't involved in the CGI cameo.

Internet abuzz as Christopher Reeve's son Will Reeve is set to feature in James Gunn's 'Superman'

The photos from the 'Superman' set featuring Christopher's youngest son Will quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), leading fans to share their thoughts and excitement.

One wrote, "For many people, it's just a random reporter. But for those who know his father's legacy, it leaves the film wonderful and with the essence of Superman," and another said, "This film going to be special."

"If he has a cameo, that just shows James Gunn has more love and care than that bs cgi cameo that was in The Flash," stated a fan.

One more expressed, "I hope the movie ends with Clark flying to space and winking at the camera with a text at the end saying 'In honor of Christopher Reeves.'"

Another person shared, "James Gunn gets it! Cannot wait to see his take on #Superman brought to life on the big screen next summer!"
