Kimberly says James Van Der Beek continues to be parent even after death
On Sunday, June 21, the film producer, who tied the knot with the ‘Dawson's Creek’ star in 2010, posted multiple photos of himself with their children, who range in age from early childhood to their mid-teens, and herself.
In the caption, she wrote, “Missing you so much and thinking of how magnificent you were in every single way today. And somehow, from the other side? You continue to parent. You're a marvel. 🩵 @vanderjames.”
James Van Der Beek was 'feeling good' despite cancer diagnosis
Beek had earlier opened up about his cancer in an interview, as he said in 2024, “I have colorectal cancer. I’ve been privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family.”
“There’s reason for optimism, and I’m feeling good,” he had added at the time.

However, the ‘Varsity Blues’ actor lost his life earlier this year. His death was announced by his wife, who wrote in a social media post, “Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace.”
“There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity, and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. For now, we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend,” she added.
James Van Der Beek's daughter said her father's watching over her
Almost a month after Beek’s death on his first posthumous birthday, his daughter Emilia shared about grief in a video posted on her mother’s social media account.
“You have to feel them in your heart, because they're in your heart. They're watching over you. They're a part of your body and in a good place,” the nine-year-old said.
The little girl also noted that “I know that my dad's in a good place. He's not in pain anymore. He's in heaven above the clouds with God and the Lord,” before adding, “Something my dad told me was if this doesn't work out the way he wanted it to and the way we wanted it to for him living, I still have to believe in miracles.”
“Miracles can still happen, just later on in life, and they'll keep coming,” she stated.
