Jamie Foxx thanks God for ‘second chance’ at life, can’t tell ‘how great it feels’ for NAACP nominations
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jamie Foxx feels blessed and grateful after receiving NAAP nominations for the 55th NAACP Image Awards.
The 56-year-old actor took to Instagram on Saturday January 26, to express his joy and appreciation for his life and his career after receiving three nominations
Jamie Foxx was nominated for three roles
Foxx was nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in 'The Burial', a drama about a lawyer who takes on a case of a man wrongfully convicted of murder.
He also received nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for 'They Cloned Tyrone' and Outstanding Independent Motion Picture for 'Story Avenue' which he produced.
He thanked the NAACP for the recognition and his collaborator Datariturner for her vision and execution, People reports.
He also shared his gratitude to God and his family for giving him a second chance to enjoy and appreciate life, after he suffered a medical complication last April that left him temporarily blind and in critical condition.
"Super thankful to the @naacpimageawards for these nominations. I cannot tell you how great it feels to be recognized by our own … and big thanks to @datariturner your vision and your relentlessness to get all of our projects done at the top of expertise and execution has been something to marvel," he wrote.
He added, "You have put Foxxhole productions on the map, and we continue to keep making incredible artistic strides!!!."

Foxx also added to the post a personal note with thanks for a second chance at life.
He wrote, "And on a personal note I am humbled and thankful to God that I get a chance a second chance to enjoy and appreciate life …"
Jamie Foxx's medical complication and recovery
Foxx’s post came after he resumed filming for the Netflix film Back in Action with Cameron Diaz last week.
He had left the production in April 2023 due to a medical emergency that sparked rumors and speculations about his health.
He later addressed the rumors in a video in July 2023, saying, "I know a lot of people were waiting, wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you I just didn’t want you to see me like that, man.
"I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through. Some people said I was blind, but as you can see the eyes are working," he added.

He also posted photos of himself in August 2023, saying he was feeling like himself again. Jamie Foxx returns to 'Back in Action' set
Foxx is back on set and ready to do all the stunts that his double could not do. A source told the People that he looks and feels fantastic. The source said, "Jamie is indeed back on set and shooting through February. He looks and feels fantastic."
They tried to finish the movie with a stunt double but it didn’t come out right so Jamie is going to do all of the parts now, the publication reported.
