Jamie Lee Curtis apologizes to 'Halloween' stars after her brutal gesture left one actress in tears
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jamie Lee Curtis, known as the ultimate scream queen of horror, recently proved that even Hollywood legends can make mistakes—and amends.
The 66-year-old actress, whose portrayal of Laurie Strode in the original 1978 'Halloween' film catapulted her to fame, has reached out to reconcile with two co-stars from the franchise after an awkward encounter at the 'Halloween Ends' premiere in 2022.
'Halloween' stars Danielle Harris and Scout Taylor-Compton 'were told to get off the carpet'
Danielle Harris and Scout Taylor-Compton, both of whom have left their mark on the 'Halloween' series, attended the premiere two years ago, hoping to meet Jamie Lee Curtis and snap a photo, reported Daily Mail.
Taylor-Compton reprised the role of Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie's 2007 reboot and its sequel, while Harris played Laurie’s daughter in 'Halloween' 4 and 5 before returning as a different character in Zombie’s films.
Their excitement, however, turned into disappointment when they were told to leave the red carpet.

“When she showed up, we were quickly told to get away, get off the carpet, get out, go sit down,” Harris shared on her 'Talk Scary To Me' podcast.
Undeterred, the pair tried to approach Curtis at the after-party but were met with an equally frosty reception.
“We went up, and I think she was just tired and done,” Harris explained. While they managed to take a photo together, Curtis seemed indifferent and even admitted she wasn’t familiar with their work.

“She didn’t know who we were, what our part was, and wasn’t interested because she doesn’t watch these [Halloween] movies,” Harris said.
When Harris introduced herself and mentioned her role as Laurie Strode’s daughter in the sequels, Curtis reportedly responded bluntly: “I’ve never seen those movies. I don’t watch them. I don’t know who you are.”
The encounter left both actresses upset, with Taylor-Compton moved to tears.
Jamie Lee Curtis apologizes for snub with heartfelt gifts and signed books
Their story, shared on the podcast, eventually reached Jamie Lee Curtis through one of her daughters, prompting the Oscar winner to take action.
Curtis repeatedly reached out to both Harris and Taylor-Compton via Instagram, apologizing for the incident.
“She’s made it very known that she doesn’t watch these [Halloween] movies, and it was no disrespect to us,” Harris explained.
Curtis, she added, went above and beyond to make amends.
“She’d had a long day, and there was a lot of stuff going on… but [she] ended up asking about my kids and how old they were and what our address was, and she sent me like a dozen of her books… she signed them all.”
The gesture touched Harris deeply.
“She did not have to do that,” she said, noting how Curtis also sent her a behind-the-scenes photo and other fun keepsakes. “She was very gracious and kind in apologizing for the experience that I had had with her.”
Curtis’ apology has helped mend bridges, showing her gracious side even after decades in the industry.
Jamie Lee Curtis teases possible return to ‘Halloween’
While 'Halloween Ends' was marketed as the final chapter in Laurie Strode’s story, Jamie Lee Curtis recently hinted that she might not be done with the character just yet.
“I have hung up my bell bottoms and my pale blue button-down shirt, and I have relinquished [Laurie] to the ages with a warm, ‘aloha,’ and a thanks for all the years and memories,” Curtis told Entertainment Weekly.
“And yet, if I’ve learned anything in my 65 years on the planet, it’s never say never.”
Meanwhile, the 'Halloween' franchise itself is far from over. Miramax Television is currently working on a Halloween TV series described as a “creative reset.”
According to Miramax executive Marc Helwig, the series will draw inspiration from John Carpenter’s 1978 classic, focusing on underexplored characters and themes.
