WASHINGTON, DC: It looks like Vice President JD Vance just pulled the ultimate third-wheel move - on his own wife’s trip.

What started as a simple getaway for second lady Usha Vance and her son has turned into what social media is calling a textbook case of clingy husband behavior, according to Nicki Swift.

JD Vance wants to tag along for wife Usha’s Greenland getaway

Before JD Vance became the VP, his wife Usha Vance was something of a mystery - a successful lawyer who loved books, kept a relatively low profile, and famously left her high-powered job to support JD’s political ambitions. But now, as second lady, it looks like she’s eager to carve out her own lane.

So when it was announced on March 23 that Usha would be heading to Greenland with their son, it made total sense. After all, Greenland is a hot topic in Trump’s second presidency and maybe Usha was hoping to make an impression.

But it seems JD Vance couldn’t bear to be left behind. Just two days later, on March 25, the VP casually announced that he would be tagging along.

In a video JD posted on social media, he tried to play it off as a fun, spontaneous decision. “You know, there was so much excitement around Usha’s visit to Greenland this Friday that I decided I didn’t want her to have all the fun by herself, so I’m gonna join her," he gushed.

Originally, Usha’s Greenland itinerary had a solid mix of cultural and personal experiences. She was set to visit historical sites, learn about indigenous Greenlandic culture, and most importantly attend the national dogsled race, Avannaata Qimussersu.

But not anymore. Now that JD has decided to crash the trip, he’s completely changed the itinerary.

According to CBS News, the Vances pushed their flight back a whole day, and instead of immersing themselves in Greenlandic culture, they’ll be spending their time in meetings about Arctic security and touring a Space Force site.

As if that weren’t bad enough, it turns out Greenland’s leadership isn’t thrilled about this visit either. Prime Minister Mute B Egede told Politico: “The only purpose [of the trip] is to demonstrate power over us, and the message is clear.”

Social media trolls JD Vance for ruining his wife's vacation

If JD thought people would find this little husband-and-wife moment cute, it was far from it - because social media absolutely roasted him.

"Usha was about to get a girls weekend away from it all and JD, in sitcom-perfect timing, is here to ruin it," one posted on X.

"Usha was so looking forward to her time away from you," another responded.

"Think he's going so he can stop her from seeking asylum," someone else quipped.

"Can’t let Usha go on her own, she might stay," read a comment.

"Am I the only one who finds this all on the creepy side of the spectrum?" another asked.
