WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Jen Psaki is facing backlash online after suggesting that Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha, might be afraid of him.

The controversial remark, made during Tuesday’s episode of the 'I’ve Had It' podcast, sparked outrage as the former White House Press Secretary and the hosts voiced concerns about Vance’s role in a potential future Trump administration.

During the podcast, Jen Psaki argued that JD Vance is, in some ways, “scarier” than President Donald Trump and implied that his wife, Usha Vance, might share that feeling.

Speaking with hosts Jennifer Welch and Angie 'Pumps' Sullivan on the 'I’ve Had It' podcast, Psaki remarked, “I think the little Manchurian candidate, JD Vance, wants to be president more than anything else."

She went on to speculate about Usha Vance’s perspective, joking, “I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of his wife. Like, are you OK? Please blink four times. We’ll come over here. We’ll save you.”

Psaki continued to criticize Vance, calling him dangerously ambitious and politically adaptable, “And that he’s willing to do anything to get there. And your whole iteration you just outlined, I mean, he’s scarier in certain ways in some ways. And he’s young and ambitious and agile in the sense that he’s a chameleon who makes himself whatever he thinks the audience wants to hear from him.”

Even the podcast episode’s description echoed the sentiment, adding a tongue-in-cheek note, “Usha Vance, please blink twice if you need help.”

Jen Psaki’s podcast remarks about JD Vance and his wife quickly went viral, sparking backlash as many criticized her comments as offensive and inappropriate.

One user wrote, "What an awful thing to say. She should read the book. She's part of the reason JD is JD."

One commenter declared, "Jen Psaki is a disgrace."

One person quipped, "I can assure @jrpsaki that the Vances are deeply in love with each other. Perhaps this is something the poor dear has never experienced and cannot possibly imagine. Sad!"

One commenter mocked, "Jen's husband just blinked 4 times...someone save him from this lunatic."

A user wrote, "Absolutely disgusting. Imagine the outrage if a conservative said this about a Democrat’s marriage. The double standard is unreal."

An X user tweeted, “Unhinged Jen Psaki is now smearing JD Vance, suggesting that his wife, Usha, wants to leave her husband and offers to ‘save’ her. She also thinks JD Vance is ‘scarier’ than Donald Trump. @MSNBC should be ashamed to pay her salary.”

One more person shared, “Also, this is an absolutely vile thing to say. Usha Vance is happily married. She made a vow to JD and those words mean something. It’s also an insult to women who are in actual bad marriages.”

“Jen Psuki [sic] must be transferring her own personal issues onto others. @jrpsaki is a dumba– who has no comprehension of the truth and has to overcompensate for her lack of talent by saying untrue things. Circle back on that, moron,” White House director of communications Steven Cheung slammed.
