NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The absence of former first lady Michelle Obama from Jimmy Carter's funeral and President Donald Trump's inauguration had made people believe that things are not all good between her and former President Barack Obama. Many rumors have also swirled that their marriage is headed for divorce.

Amid all this, an old interview clip of Jennifer Aniston from 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' has resurfaced online where the actress could be seen denying claims that she had an affair with Barack Obama and calling the tabloid rumor "absolutely untrue".

Jennifer Aniston denies affair with Barack Obama in resurfaced clip

This is not the first time that the rumors about an alleged affair between Barack Obama and Jennifer Aniston has made its way online. The rumor was first talked about in 2024.

The clip that has been resurfacing lately is an episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' from October 2024 where Aniston was the guest. During the episode, the 'Friends' alum firmly shut down the claims when the host handed her a gossip magazine.

Aniston said, "Of all the calls you get from your publicist where you're just like 'Oh, no, what's it gonna be?' or you get an email saying some cheesy tabloid is gonna make up a story - and then it's that."

She added "I was not mad at it" and confirmed that the story was "absolutely untrue."

Host Kimmel asked her, "So, the truth about Jen and Barack is that there's no truth?" and Aniston replied, "I've met him [Obama] once. I know Michelle more than him."

Notably, Jennifer is not known to be dating anyone currently and has not been romantically linked to anyone for the past five years, according to Daily Mail.

Barack Obama's solo appearance at Donald Trump's inauguration sparks separation rumors

Former president Barack Obama’s solo appearance at Donald Trump's inauguration event sparked speculations about the former President and Michelle Obama's relationship as the former First Lady also skipped Jimmy Carter’s state funeral earlier in January.

Notably, CNN had reported that Michelle remained in Hawaii due to a “scheduling conflict” during Carter’s funeral. NBC News noted no explanation was provided for her absence from Trump’s inauguration.

Moreover, online rumors also suggested marital challenges between the Obamas. An insider informed Radar Online, "The Obamas are having a tough time, there's no doubt about that. The Aniston "affair" attention was unwanted, and Michelle felt let down by it all."

The source added, "But the reality is, they're more like friends at the moment. The spark has gone, and they're simply going through the motions."

Jennifer Aniston posts cryptic message on political stance amid affair rumors

Jennifer Aniston has not let the affair rumors affect her as the actress voiced her concerns about the current US political climate. She used her Instagram to subtly criticize the leadership of President Donald Trump's administration, according to Marca.

Her Instagram story featured a cartoon from The New Yorker where two characters discuss the cold weather and its comparison to politics, per the outlet.

The caption read, "It says it's nineteen degrees out, but the general lack of empathy in our current political climate is making it feel colder."

Even though the post didn't explicitly name President Trump, the message strongly suggested her dissatisfaction with the administration's divisive approach, the outled mentioned.

Moreover, this isn't the first time Aniston has made her political stance known. In 2021, she publicly criticized Vice President JD Vance after his controversial remarks about childless women in politics.
