Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck officially finalize their divorce 20 weeks after filing
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially divorced 20 weeks after the singer-actress filed to dissolve their marriage, People reported on Monday, January 6.
After their failed engagement in 2004, the couple rekindled their romance in 2021. They went all the way the second time, getting married in an intimate ceremony in July 2022 and later celebrating with their friends and family in Georgia on August 20, 2022.
However, on the second anniversary of the Georgia ceremony, Lopez filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for splitting from the 'Justice League' actor.

According to court papers obtained by People, Lopez, 55, listed April 26, 2024, as the date of her separation from Affleck, 52, in her divorce filing at the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
She was not accompanied by a lawyer, requested no spousal support for either party, and for the attorney's fees to be split. The "exact nature" of their community, quasi-community assets, and separate property and obligations were stated to be "unknown" and to "be determined."
Additionally, Lopez requested the restoration of her full former name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez.
An insider source reportedly told the publication that Lopez seemed "relieved" a week after filing for divorce, before adding, "She didn't want a divorce. She wanted to figure things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to just give up."
Another source close to Affleck stated that he was "doing well and is very focused" at the time. "He thrives when he has work projects. He's been great when it comes to the kids too. He's doing exactly what he wants. He seems very happy," they added.
