LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez took to social media for the first time on Friday, August 23, after filing for divorce.

The singer filed for divorce from Ben Affleck with the Los Angeles County Superior Court earlier this week. The couple, who married in 2022, have decided to part ways shortly after their wedding.

Now that the legal matters are settled, Jennifer Lopez has reposted a photo of herself with a large Christmas tree in the background.

The photo also featured gift boxes and flowers. In the image, the 'On the Floor' hitmaker sported voluminous blonde hair and a cozy blush two-piece outfit.

According to People, the photo seems to have been taken in December 2020, as celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton shared the same image of Lopez on his Instagram page at that time, featuring her in the same outfit.

Appleton wrote in the caption, “Deluxe Glam Barbie- Ending the year with a bang ✨ #nye #nyc.”

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Jennifer Lopez cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for her divorce from the 'Gone Girl' star, Ben Affleck. She also stated that their date of separation was April 26.

Amid this, a source close to Lopez and Affleck told People that the pair “really loved each other — and it happened quickly.”

They said, “They were really going to give it a try, and they did. These are two people who are in love with love, and who wouldn't jump into that? And the world wanted it.”

The source stated that the soon-to-be-divorced duo are "very different people."

“She's super public and wants to go out, and he's more of an introvert and is happy to hang out at home,” they added.

After the wedding, the ‘Dance Again’ singer herself said, “We both were like, 'Wow, we're so happy and we don't want any of that to come into play again.' We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience, we're at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things.”

Marilyn Chinitz shared, “I think that she most likely just wanted to get this done, [that] there was a lot of hesitation and hemming and hawing back and forth, and it's a statement: 'I'm moving forward, I'm filing and I'm doing it on my own.’”
