Jennifer Lopez says she could give 'TED Talk' on dysfunctional relationships after Ben Affleck divorce
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jennifer Lopez is bringing a bold, slightly unhinged-but-funny energy when it comes to talking about relationships. During a recent interview, the singer-actress joked that she could basically headline a full TED Talk from her life experiences.
Without naming anyone from her past relationships, the "Let’s Get Loud" hitmaker said she has a "PhD in narcissists." She added that she has learned a lot about human behavior, emotional intelligence, and dysfunctional relationships throughout her life.
Jennifer Lopez says she’s a 'PhD in narcissists,' teases TED Talk on emotional intelligence
During an interview with Elle UK, Lopez and her ‘Office Romance’ co-star Brett Goldstein were asked what they could speak about with expertise outside of acting. Lopez responded with a witty take, saying, “I could give a Ted Talk on human behavior, emotional intelligence and dysfunctional relationships.”
She also later said, “This is my good era. This is my happy era,” adding that when she began filming ‘Office Romance’, “I felt like it was starting a new time of my life.”
“I had just went through a lot of changes in my life… actually, it began like a year before, but it rolled into all of this time. This past year has been some of the best times of my life,” she added.
Without directly referencing her personal life changes, Lopez reflected on how much she has evolved over the past few years. She has been married four times, including to Marc Anthony, Alex Rodriguez, and Cris Judd. She added, “Everything’s kind of changed and shifted for me in the last couple of years.”
Brett Goldstein and Jennifer Lopez share mutual praise during ‘Office Romance’ interview
During the same conversation, Goldstein spoke warmly about his ‘Office Romance’ co-star Lopez. He shared that he had always been a fan of her, saying he thought she was cool even before they began working together.
Once they were on set, his admiration grew further. He described Lopez as easy and enjoyable to work with, while also being intelligent, thoughtful, and highly respectful of the script.
Goldstein revealed that she gave just four notes during production, and those notes helped sharpen the film and make it more impactful.
He also said that Lopez is often taken for granted despite her talent and work ethic. Lopez, in turn, responded with appreciation for Goldstein speaking about how much she valued working with him and the kind of energy he brings as a collaborator.
