Stephen Baldwin reveals bizarre reason he was fired from Jennifer Aniston movie
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Stephen Baldwin has made a very wild accusation years later, after being fired from a classic Jennifer Aniston movie for outshining her.
During a recent episode of his podcast ‘One Bad Movie’, the 60-year-old actor revealed that he was the first choice to play the A-lister’s boyfriend in the 1998 film, ‘The Object of My Affection’.
Stephen Baldwin says he was asked not to be 'funnier than Jennifer'
The rom-com also starred Paul Rudd. But Baldwin was fired just two days after the shooting.
“After the second day of shooting, after lunch this producer comes to my trailer and goes, ‘There's a problem.’ He goes, ‘You can't be funnier than Jennifer,’” he shared.
The ‘Born on the Fourth of July’ actor then recalled telling the producer, “Is this a joke? This is a comedy movie!”
Stephen Baldwin's role was given to John Pankow
Baldwin returned to the movie set the next day after the incident while trying “not to be me”. But things did not work in his favor and he was replaced with ‘Mad About You’ star John Pankow.
However, the father of Hailey Bieber clarified during the podcast that he’s shared the story not to “shred anybody”. He even claimed that he still does not know who directed that his acting be questioned.
TJ Miller enjoyed working with Jennifer Aniston
Baldwin shared the story with TJ Miller on the podcast. Miller worked with Aniston in ‘Office Christmas Party’ and had a very good experience with her.
The two played brother-sister in the 2016 movie and at the time Miller had said, “We had brother-sister chemistry. I was really surprised because I had heard about you and what a terror you were. I heard that you were very sweet, but I thought, ‘How do we establish this chemistry?’ And so quickly you were welcoming and you were like, ‘Well, here, text me and let’s try to have a dinner.’”
“The chemistry was there already because she was a little sisterly to me on set, in a sense of ‘Hello, little baby wannabe-movie-star fellow, I’m going to look out for you,’” the 45-year-old added.
Meanwhile, Baldwin never got another chance to work with the ‘Friends’ star. He, however, worked in movies like ‘The Usual Suspects’, ‘Threesome’, and ‘Bio-Dome’.
He also did TV and appeared in shows, like ‘I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!’, ‘The Mole’, ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’, and ‘Special Forces: World's Toughest Test’.
