Jennifer Lopez’s beauty brand forced to delete social media post after awkward Ben Affleck gaffe

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez’s beauty brand made a social media blunder on Sunday, September 22, by posting an old image of the star wearing her ‘Ben’ necklace, amid her ongoing divorce.

The 55-year-old ‘Jenny From the Block’ singer, who filed for divorce from estranged husband Ben Affleck on August 20, also posted the same image on her Instagram story.

However, the image was deleted from both the Instagram pages soon after.

Jennifer Lopez's beauty brand - JLo Beauty - initially posted the picture of the star exuding a fall vibe, with her flaunting a warm brown blazer with a white shirt underneath. 

In the selfie, the singer layered a number of gold necklaces that included the dainty namesake chain of the ‘Argo’ actor. 

However, as soon as fans started pointing out the details of Affleck’s name being visible, both posts were deleted from both her channel and JLo Beauty’s channel. 

The necklace, gifted to her on her birthday in 2022 by Affleck, was designed by the ‘Good Will Hunting’ star himself, per Daily Mail. 

To create the high-end piece of jewelry, Affleck collaborated with FoundRae, as per the outlet. 

Meanwhile, the necklace has made quite a few appearances online during the ‘Maid in Manhattan’ star’s short marriage to the Oscar winner. 

Last August, Lopez shared an Instagram carousel featuring the same photo with several other pictures of her in the same outfit. 

Meanwhile, after the photo was removed from the two accounts, it was replaced with a promotional post containing product images and an image of leaves. 

The images were accompanied by the caption, “Anyone else excited it’s finally the First Day of Fall? Swipe through for our #moodboard and tell us what you’re most excited for this season down below ⬇️.”

Following months of speculations, Lopez finally ended her marriage with Affleck on August 20 by filing for divorce on the second anniversary of their traditional Georgia wedding. 

In 2022, the former couple eloped to Las Vegas in July before settling for a more traditional ceremony in August. 

However, their marriage crumbled down earlier this year, with Lopez citing April 26 as their date of separation in her divorce filing.

The internet got talking following the social media blunder with several fans criticizing Jennifer Lopez for having a teenage mentality. However, many users also pointed out that the photo is at least a year old and has been there on her Instagram for a year. 

One of the readers commented online, "55 going on the mentality of 17."

Another fan said on the same note, "Sorry, even if the would still be together I find both the Jennifer&Ben and BEN necklaces quite corny… what are they, 16?"

Someone else noted, "This is JLo trying to saturate the news with anything & everything except puffy," while alluding to her ex-boyfriend Sean 'Diddy' Combs.

"There's definitely a method to her madness. She plots and plans her every move," said another belligerent user. 

Another user chimed in, "PR...trying to get people thinking. Ben is gone and done."
