WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News host Jesse Watters took a subtle jab at liberals when he jokingly said that President Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron Trump, will marry Sydney Sweeney.

Watters remarked after it was confirmed that the 'Euphoria' actress is registered as a Republican in Monroe County, Florida.

Sydney Sweeney made headlines recently for her American Eagle jeans ad titled "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans." The campaign sparked online controversy about eugenics and racism, with some critics branding it as “Nazi propaganda.”

During Fox News' 'The Five,' host Jesse Watters jokingly suggested that Sweeney could potentially marry Barron Trump.

He said during the show, “Every girl wants to look like her, and every guy wants to look at her, and the Democrats think, ‘Wait a second, why don't we call her a Nazi and boycott the company?’”

The Fox News host then added, “You know how this ends? She’s gonna marry Barron [Trump], and it’s going to create the greatest political dynasty in American history.”

Interestingly, Watters appeared to be referencing Sweeney’s recent association with right-leaning politics embraced by conservatives.

The American Eagle jeans ad drew criticism after Sweeney was seen saying in the clip, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color... my jeans are blue.”

As the ad went viral on social media, critics argued that the wordplay on “genes” echoed eugenics ideology, once used to promote white genetic superiority and justify the forced sterilization of marginalized communities.

However, the backlash was dismissed by many Republicans. Some viewed the wordplay as creative marketing, while others praised the ad as a bold stand against "woke" culture.

American Eagle responded to the criticism in an Instagram post, stating: “‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”

Interestingly, Donald Trump told reporters on August 3 about Sweeney, “She’s a registered Republican? Oh, now I love her ad!”

He also wrote on Truth Social: “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ’em Sydney!”

Internet reacts to Jesse Watters' joke

Several internet users chimed in and reacted to Jesse Watters’ statement, where he jokingly said that Barron Trump will marry Sydney Sweeney while taking a subtle jab at liberals.

A user wrote on X, "This news cycle about a denim ad is insane," while another added, "It's hilarious how much they have worked themselves up over this one TV commercial."

One person stated, "Now we know who writes all the creepy Barron Trump fanfic," whereas another mentioned, "Love the troll, Jesse."

A user also wrote, "Politics? Nah, this is just plain weird now. What is this obsession?" while one commented, "It’s a joke. Things people used to do before woke ruined everything."
