WASHINGTON, DC: Jesse Watters jokingly warned he would consider it “D-Day” if he found out his wife Emma DiGiovine voted for Kamala Harris, comparing the act to “having an affair.”

The Fox News co-host of 'The Five' shared these remarks while discussing a recent advertisement encouraging women to vote privately without pressure from their partners.

Jesse Watters says voting for Kamala Harris would be 'D-Day' for his marriage

During 'The Five', conversation arose as Jesse Watters reacted to a video featuring Julia Roberts encouraging women to vote for Kamala Harris regardless of their MAGA-supporting spouses' opinions.

Watters explained how serious he would take it if his wife secretly backed Kamala Harris in the voting booth.

"If I found out Emma was going to the voting booth and pulling the lever for Harris, that’s the same thing as having an affair,” he said, expressing how such a decision would “violate the sanctity” of their marriage.

"What else is she keeping from me? What is she lying about?” he continued, wondering aloud about possible secrets.

Watters added, “Why would she do that and vote Harris? Why would she say she was voting… If I caught her and she said, ‘I lied to you for the last four years.’”

At that point,  co-host Jeanine Pirro interrupted, “So you’d admit you’d intimidate…” to which Watters responded, “It’s over, Emma! That would be D-Day!” Daily Beast reported.

Jesse Watters’ relationship history with Emma DiGiovine

Jesse Watters and Emma DiGiovine, who had worked as an associate producer on his show 'Watters' World', married in January 2020 with high-profile guests including Donald Trump Jr, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Eric Trump, and Lara Trump.

Their relationship first made headlines when Watters admitted to having an affair with DiGiovine in 2017 while still married to his first wife, Noelle.

Watters divorced Noelle in 2019 after 10 years of marriage, noted Daily Mail.

In recent political events, former first lady Michelle Obama encouraged women at a rally in Michigan to vote independently, suggesting that women shouldn’t be influenced by the men in their lives.

“If you are a woman who lives in a household of men that don’t listen to you or value your opinion, just remember that your vote is a private matter,” she said.

'Pretty Woman' star Roberts also voiced support for women’s privacy in voting, in a video advertisement for Vote Common Good.

"In the one place in America where women still have a right to choose, you can vote any way you want and no one will ever know,” said Roberts as part of the campaign, urging women to make independent choices in the voting booth.

Internet jokes Emma DiGiovine should dump Jesse Watters after his 'D Day' remark

The internet responded to Jesse Watters' remark on X with a mixture of humour and criticism about how he he addressed his wife.

"Emma, you know the drill, go ahead, cast that vote for Harris. He’ll never know, and if he does, hey, you’ll still get half his money," joked one.

Another user quipped, "I would divorce him just for saying that.”

Some users took a more serious stance, with one remarking, "Time for a divorce. Control is not love or respect.”

Other responses criticized Watters’ comments, with one user saying, "Good grief...you guys are desperate," and another commenting, "Truth. A house divided is a miserable life.” One user even called Watters "delusional."
