Jessie Bates faces heat over plan to use Taylor Swift 'smack talk' against Travis Kelce in upcoming game
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jessie Bates reportedly plans to use "smack talk" involving Taylor Swift against Travis Kelce during the Atlanta Falcons vs Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday, September 22, as per Us Weekly.
The safety said during the Friday episode of the 'Pacman Jones Show', "Once that clock ticks and we in between those lines, you know, I see red sometimes. I might say some crazy stuff to him."

Jessie Bates has a lot of respect for Taylor Swift
Jessie Bates remarked, "It may involve Taylor [Swift, or] it may not, but it’s just part of the game — talking your little smack."
He added, "I don’t listen to much Taylor Swift, but obviously you gotta respect for, you know, what she’s done with her career. And then, with Travis, obviously, you got to have some type of respect with him."
It is not clear whether Swift will be present at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday to support Kelce. She earlier cheered him during his first two home games of the season.
Since Swift and Kelce officially started dating in 2023, many NFL players have reportedly tried to use the status of the pop star to get under the tight end's skin. However, they failed in their mission, and the Chiefs sailed to yet another Super Bowl victory last season, as per Marca.
Taylor Swift faces heat for hogging NFL limelight after she appears in promo
Taylor Swift has been facing heat for hogging the NFL limelight and it has left her feeling guilty as Travis Kelce tries to do damage control with Chiefs teammates, according to Life & Style.
A source told the outlet, "It’s only natural the NFL wants her in this promo, she’s bringing in so many fans and this is a business, of course they want to use her to promote."
They added, "But there are some people in the organization that are grumbling that it takes away from the team, and obviously the die-hard fans aren’t too happy either and they’re making their voices heard, which makes Taylor feel uneasy."
"She doesn't want to upset anybody in any way, she’s just a very excited and supportive girlfriend and when the NFL approached her, she didn’t think twice about lending her support," noted the tipster.
Before the 2024 NFL season opener between the defending Super Bowl champions and the Baltimore Ravens, the league aired a 30-second promo featuring four different clips of the 'Lover' singer cheering on Kelce during games from last season, combined with other highlights from the 2023 season.
