NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Dr Jill Stein, the longshot presidential candidate of the Green Party, slammed the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for seeking applicants for monitoring third-party candidates. She called out the DNC over the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on May 24, claiming that the job posting had already been deleted from their website.

The physician and climate change advocate announced her bid to seek the Green Party’s nomination for the 2024 presidential election in November 2023, Fox News reports. Some Democrats had criticized her 2016 presidential bid, claiming that she cut away valuable votes from Hillary Clinton. Stein reportedly received 1.07 per cent of the popular vote in 2016 and 0.36 per cent of the popular vote in 2012.

Jill Stein accuses DNC of trying to 'infiltrate' competition

Dr Jill Stein shared screengrabs of the 'Independent & Third Party Project Manager' job listing by the DNC, which states that the responsibilities are "gathering on-the-ground intel to inform our overall landscape assessment of independent and third-party candidates."

This includes informing the DNC on "ballot access progress" and "campaign activity, organizational strength, and voter/grassroots enthusiasm" as well as "identifying and activating in-state leaders and supporters for four current and future program priorities."

The campaign events of independent and third-party candidates, such as Robert F Kennedy Jr and Dr Stein, have to be followed by prospective managers, who would then be required to "report back on campaign activity."

"Wow. @TheDemocrats posted - then deleted - a job for a 'Third Party Project Manager' to infiltrate their competition and find ways to take us off the ballot. Is this how they’re 'saving democracy'?" Dr Stein wrote in her tweet.

Internet backs Jill Stein, calling out the DNC

"DNC is worse than RNC in this. It's sick," wrote a user on X in response to Dr Stein's post.

"If they have to cheat to get elected they don't deserve to win," stated another.

"The dirty tricks department of the Democratic Party is alive and well," noted a third.

"Nice 'democracy' you have going there in the 'land of the free'," jibed a fourth user.

"Democrats (politicians I mean) are just as crooked as republicans, but keep good facade, pretending to care. Disgusting!" expressed a fifth.
