Michaels, who is married to her wife Deshanna Marie Minuto since 2022, addressed the LGBTQ+ community on her social media, saying, “Dear fellow gays… We demand tolerance and respect but then make a mockery of something sacred for over 2 billion Christians.”

She continued in her post, "This type of hypocrisy and lack of understanding is a bad look. We get outraged when the extreme right bashes us, but then we do this s**t.”

“What kind of reaction do you think they will have towards the LGBTQ+ community after this. This is NOT how we break down barriers, it's how you build them,” continued the fitness expert in her criticism.

Apart from Michaels, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker too attacked the opening ceremony calling it "crazy".

Per Fox News, Thomas Jolly, who was the artistic director for the opening ceremony will also be the artistic director of the closing ceremony along with the opening and closing ceremonies of the upcoming Paralympic Games.

Internet lauds Jillian Michaels for her criticism of Paris Olympics opening act

After Jillian Michaels made her stance clear, she was hailed by several of her fans for speaking up. Netizens even slammed the directors for producing a drag show in the opening ceremony of a competition that essentially brings the world together.

One of the social media usesr said, "Agree I think if this was an adult theatrical event that adults could choose to buy a ticket to attend it would be fine but to force this into the opening ceremony of an event that is supposedly to unite the world this is an epic fail and I lay the blame at the feet of @NBCSports."

Someone else added, "The radical Woke Marxism is never about tolerance and respect, it is about tyranny and destruction, and its number one target is ALWAYS Christianity!"

"💯 well said!! Who are these people and do they really represent the LGBT community??," said another fan.

One user commented, "My reaction is to acknowledge that I understand this is an extreme minority of individuals within the LGBTQ community. Mostly from the T portion. The majority of the community simply wants to be free to love who they chose to love and be true to themselves as to who they are."

Another fan simply added, "Thank you for being a voice of reason ❤️"

"Unquestionably the lowest moment for the Olympics EVER!!!!," declared someone else.

A social media user observed, "Yes. There is a certain smugness among the queer community (different from the typical LGBT) that seems to know they now have institutional power, and are no longer looking for acceptance and to Co-exist. This was a ritual to show the power they have to the world. And in a ceremony that should being the world together."

"I'm still wondering what this Olympic opening had to do with sportsmanship and years of dedication it took for these athletes to excel in their field," commented another.

A tweet read, "Exactly!! I don’t care about anyone’s sex status or what they do, but there’s a time and place for everything and this was wrong and distasteful! Pride month is also getting the same way.!"

Another user said, "It is not the gay community's fault. I know so many gay people outraged by this. It's whoever was in charge and thought this was acceptable. But thank you for speaking up. ❤️."
