JoJo Siwa reveals her $3.4M LA home swatted for second time, says she now requires security 'every day'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: JoJo Siwa's $3.4 million Los Angeles home was recently swatted for the second time.
The 21-year-old recounted the incident to E! News on Monday, July 15, explaining that swatting involves someone making a prank call to emergency services to dispatch police to a targeted location.
JoJo experienced her first swatting incident three years ago shortly after she publicly came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
JoJo Siwa addresses security concerns as she opens up about recent swatting incident
The topic of swatting arose when E! News reporter Keltie Knight asked JoJo Siwa about her current level of fame compared to earlier stages of her career.
"This is definitely different. I got swatted two nights ago. I haven't told anybody about this yet. But basically, I showed up to my house, there were four police cars outside," responded the 'Dance Moms' alum.
She continued, "The police asked me, he was like, 'Why do you not have security with you in this moment?' And I was like, 'Cause I haven't needed it yet.' But now, I do really need it every day with me. So it definitely has changed in the last month, two months, I guess, since 'Karma' came out. It's been fun to say the least."
JoJo has been residing in her 6,000-square-foot Los Angeles mansion since December 2019 and has often showcased it on her social media platforms, including Instagram and YouTube. The four-bedroom Mediterranean-style home, which sits on a half-acre lot, reportedly features a double-height foyer, gourmet kitchen, large dining room, and spa-inspired bath.
JoJo Siwa's Los Angeles home was ransacked by burglars following first swatting incident
Masked burglars ransacked JoJo Siwa's home five months after the initial swatting incident in 2021.
The burglars broke in around 2.40 am, triggering her home alarm, which led police to visit her home.
Authorities discovered an open door, believed to be the burglars' entry point, but the suspects had vanished by the time they arrived.
JoJo shared security camera footage on Snapchat, writing, "This makes me sick to watch." She assured her followers that her "family and pups are safe," emphasizing that their safety is her top priority.
JoJo's new music marks a departure from her previous work. Her track 'Karma', released in April, is part of her 'Guilty Pleasure EP', which dropped on Friday.
