MADISONVILLE, LOUISIANA: Amid the Christmas celebrations, Senator John Kennedy delighted his followers on X with a holiday greeting featuring a taxidermied alligator wearing a Santa hat.

In the video, Kennedy declared that "God’s love can be found everywhere, but especially shines from Louisiana." He also celebrated the state’s signature culture, giving a shout-out to its “Cajun flavors, jazz music,” and the many blessings that make Louisiana special.

John Kennedy wishes Louisiana families in Christmas post

“I’m John Kennedy, and I want to wish every family in Louisiana a merry Christmas,” Kennedy said while sitting next to a taxidermied alligator. “The Christmas season is special because it’s a celebration of God’s love for all of humanity… I believe you can find God’s love everywhere, but it really shines in Louisiana."

For context, Louisiana, also called the Pelican State, has the largest alligator population in the country, with more than two million alligators. Kennedy praised the state’s culture and resources: “God blessed our taste buds with Cajun flavors, God blessed our eardrums with Jazz music, God blessed our coasts with fish to catch, and our skies with ducks to hunt. Above all, God blessed Louisiana with the most God-fearing, hardworking, and fun-loving people on earth."

Ending his holiday message, Kennedy said, “Then I thank God at night, and sometimes during the day, I thank Him twice for the fact that I get to live in Louisiana. So, during this Christmas season, on behalf of my wife, Becky, and my entire family, I wish all Louisianians a safe and merry Christmas.”

Joe Biden, Gavin Newsom post Christmas messages on social media

Former President Joe Biden shared a Christmas Eve family photo showing Biden family members standing in front of a decorated Christmas tree. He posted the image on X with the message, “Wishing a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with love.”

The photo, posted around 9 pm on Christmas Eve, featured eight family members. Although he usually appears as the focal point in family portraits, Joe Biden stood partially behind former first lady Jill Biden. Hunter Biden and his daughter, Maisy, took center stage in the frame.

California’s first partner, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, shared the Newsom family’s official Christmas card on social media. The festive photo showed her with her husband, Governor Gavin Newsom, and their four children. Along with the image, the couple released a video message promoting unity and kindness despite political divisions.

Jennifer wrote, “Our family wishes you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Sending love and peace to all.”

In the video, she added, “Even in moments of division, Christmas has a way of breaking through, reminding all of us of the goodness that we share," Gavin Newsom, who is preparing for the 2028 presidential election, said, “We hope that same sense of joy, peace, and kindness echoes throughout all of your homes.”
