WASHINGTON, DC: Jon Stewart has taken a dig at Donald Trump, calling his negative comments about Kamala Harris a recycled Elton John song.

During Monday’s episode, August 12, of ‘The Daily Show’, the comedian said, as reported by Deadline, “This is bull**t, man!”

Jon Stewart blames Trump for ‘lazy apocalypse-ing’

He continued, “This is just a remix? Dude, you can’t just find and replace Biden with Kamala. That’s lazy apocalypse-ing.”

“This is like when Elton John changed like three words and then pretended ‘Candle in the Wind’ was always about [Princess] Diana. It wasn’t! Very disrespectful to Marilyn [Monroe],” he asserted.

The vice president presumptively became the Democratic presidential nominee after Joe Biden backed out.

Since then Trump and his aides have not missed a chance to criticize and slam her. But as per Stewart, the Republican leader is not even putting any effort into slamming her.

He alleged that the 45th President has been recycling and reusing the same punch he earlier used for Biden just like John’s song ‘Candle in the Wind’ that he used twice.

The British singer-songwriter reportedly first released the song in 1974 to pay tribute to Marilyn Monroe, who lost her life in 1962. She was 36 at the time.

The same song was re-released with a few words changed in 1997 after Princess Diana’s death. She was also 36.

Netizens call Trump ‘an ignorant bully’

Meanwhile, Stewart’s comments have received some attention online with a reader reportedly saying, “But all the recycled Trump jabs, those are totally cool right?  If you want to play politics and the Left is going to fight dirty, in fact dirtier than any party in world history, don't expect the GOP and Trump to be thoughtful and polite and courteous.”

The second one commented, “Regardless of the candidate Trump's ‘jabs’ against are always the same. Whoever it is ‘is weak on crime’; ‘wants open borders’ ‘is a leftist, Marxist, communist’. It's always the same. It's like Trump hasn't been able to come up with something new for 8 years.”

“Give me one time when Trump was thoughtful, polite, and courteous. He is an ignorant bully,” the third one said.

“It's pathetic how obsessed he is over this issue and won't shut up about it,” the fourth one stated.

The fifth one added, “Hope and change is now marketed as you go girl.”

A comment read, “DDL-920 Molecule for TRUMP. It Reverses Alzheimer’s 🤣 Spare the mice!”

Another comment was “MAGA: Latin For MAGGOT.”

A YouTube user wrote, “When you go back and play all of Trump's insults about his opponents back to back you realize he's actually just repeating what he's heard people say about him all his life.  That's the most hurtful, despicable thing he can think of accusing someone -- being him.”

“When your entire strategy is to attack another person rather than support yourself, you're not left with much when you no longer have that person to attack,” the second user stated.
