LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jon Voight, the outspoken father of Angelina Jolie, has voiced his support for Elon Musk amid controversy surrounding the tech mogul's alleged "Nazi salute" at Donald Trump’s inauguration. 

The Tesla CEO ignited a firestorm for making a one-armed gesture while delivering an animated speech at the inaugural parade held at Capital One Arena on Monday, January 20.

In a video shared on Friday, Jon Voight praised Elon Musk's character, saying, "I'm here to tell you about Elon Musk, a man of dignity, truth and honor, who has done a lot for this country and the people of the USA. He is a kind soul, a gentle giant, and he loves America."

The veteran actor then criticized the media's portrayal of the tech billionaire.

"And I want to tell you that the media is a disgrace. They're disgusting. They turn things around. They try to destroy and cause havoc. This, my friend is dangerous to compare and say that Elon Musk is Hitler," Voight noted. 

"Elon Musk is being targeted for no reason and this false propaganda will stop now. There are many people who put their arms up. We the people must stand up for truth," he urged.

He concluded the 1.35-minute video expressing confidence in Elon's dedication to the nation. "He will stand with America and help make this nation stronger," Voight asserted. 

Elon's father, Errol Musk, also spoke out about the situation in an interview with NewsNation, calling the accusations "absolute nonsense" and "rubbish," as per The Hill.



 

Internet hails Jon Voight for speaking out about Elon Musk

Jon Voight's video on the controversy surrounding Elon Musk gathered praise among his followers, with many lauding him for standing up for the "truth."

One wrote, "Love your videos, Mr. Voight! Thanks for always standing on the side of truth and defending America," and another said, "Well said, thank you. Somebody had to say it." 

"Listen to Jon Voight. He constantly speaks the truth. He's one great American Patriot to say the least. The very best Jon," a person noted. 

An individual, who appreciated Voight calling Elon a "gentle giant who loves America," shared an edited picture of Voight with the quote, writing, "Loved this quote." 

"Wonderfully spoken @jonvoight Elon, everyone wants to fight the heavyweight champ, ignore the noise and do your thing. Success is what prevails," one more expressed. 

Another person commented, "You are one of the few good people in Hollywood Thank you!" The Oscar-winning actor, who has been vocal about his support for Trump, was recently named a "special ambassador" to Hollywood by the president. 

During his speech at the victory rally held on the eve of the inauguration, Voight declared the MAGA spearhead's 2024 election win to be the "greatest win of all time."
